Russian invasion of Ukraine

The Trump administration has suggested to Ukraine that the U.S. be granted 50% ownership of the country’s rare earth minerals.
I've posted before that they are estimated at 15 Trillion or 15,000 Billion.
The US has sent $70 Billion in military aid,and in return they want $7500 Billion + when the war is over they will send troops to Ukraine for protection.

Slava Ukraini.
Thankfully Zelensky can see straight through it and told them to Foxtrot Oscar

Listening to Zelenskyy on BBC he is a strong leader in this new European future without America, speaking about we must apply pressure together. A European army.

“No deals behind our backs”
He may not have had a political background but he shames many of the so called polital leaders in the world. An amazing man.

You can knock off at least a third of that figure based on the profit US arms companies have made from that £70bn

The fact that Trump is using extortion comes as absolutely no surprise. He’s a fucking criminal and the fact he’s behaving like one is par for the course.

I really hope countries in Europe do what they have to do to help Ukraine without US support.

Part of me hopes Trump and Vance fuck this up so bad that they storm off thinking we will panic and leave Europe to sort this all out once and for all.
One of the reasons our leaders always appear weak is because they have to constantly think what the USA will say.

Free of USA bullying our leaders would have no choice but to step up to the plate.

Thanks to Ukriane, the rest of Europe would muller the Russian Army in a few weeks and easily throw them out in my opinion.

We could then stand proud and be free of the current loons in charges of the USA.
Being English/British I do not like the fact that we, as a nation, have blithely played lap dog to the 'American Way'. (The Bush/Blair years highlighted the way we were going, and where we have now arrived).
I do not want this country to become just another U.S. state.
I'd rather be part of a European trading bloc.
Trump is a bullsh*tter and as the old saying goes - 'bunkum baffles brains'.

I also believe a lot of this so called 70bn was old stock.
Yes, that’s fair comment too. It’s a difficult one, because without US support it’s likely Ukraine would have been overwhelmed, but it’s clear that the ongoing levels of support were carefully calibrated to ensure the twin ambitions of avoiding escalation and depleting Russian military capability were met, and to that extent the policy can only be said to have been successful, although at a terrible cost for Ukraine.

I was willing to wait and see what Trump would do, not because I trust him to do the ‘right’ thing, but because anyone with a brain can see how weakened Russia has become and that he might want to exploit that, but that notion now appears like it was misconceived as a possibility.

The choice is clear. It’s up to Europe to step up. I don’t see what other option it has in the circumstances. We are dealing with evil here. Nothing less.

I don’t know what to make of this Senator Graham yesterday the US want the minerals.
Personally I think it’s a risky move to give your inheritance to the US.?

All politics is fucked mate. I'm just so delusional at our political so called elite.
A game to get into none of them are poor, it’s moved away from idealism into how much they can screw us all for.
The only leader Zelenskyy stands alone way above the rest as the an honourable man.

Poland's Sikorski: European leaders are set to meet in Paris Monday for urgent talks

European leaders are set to meet in Paris Monday for urgent talks on Ukraine and the continent’s wider security, according to Poland’s foreign minister, as capitals desperately try to persuade Donald Trump not to rush into peace negotiations with Russia.

President Emmanuel Macron summoned European leaders to the French capital for a last-minute meeting following the Munich Security Conference, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said on Saturday. He urged leaders to use the opportunity to work out a unified response to Trump.

"I'm very glad that President Macron has called our leaders to Paris," Sikorski said, adding that he expects the European leaders to discuss "in a very serious fashion" the challenges posed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
