It’s a difficult one, because without US support it’s likely Ukraine would have been overwhelmed, but it’s clear that the ongoing levels of support were carefully calibrated to ensure the twin ambitions of avoiding escalation and depleting Russian military capability were met, and to that extent the policy can only be said to have been successful, although at a terrible cost for Ukraine.I also believe a lot of this so called 70bn was old stock.
