Watching Leeds v Sunderland.

Top of the table clash.

Sunderland winning 0-1.

The atmosphere is dire.

Little or no singing, even from the Sunderland fans.

That can't be true, Sky told me that Elland road is always a cauldron 100% of the time just like Anfield and St James!

Leeds win 2-1. Scored the winner at the end of extra time.

What I will say is, every Leeds fan stayed until the end of the match. Nobody left early. 10 minutes after the game, the stadium is still full, all the Leeds fans are singing and celebrating with the team and the manager.

Would you want to go home if you lived in Leeds ?

I have to admit so many fans leaving early, irrespective of the score, is more of a concern than atmosphere. And it never fails to amaze me that all the usual reasons/excuses disappear if the PL trophy is being presented after the game.
I know it's none of my business, and the transport links are crap, but why are people leaving before 80 minutes with a minimum of five minutes stoppage time for most games? And what must the players think?
I've been to plenty of away games where home fans leave early, but it's never in the same numbers as at the Etihad and it tends to mainly happen when we're a couple of goals ahead with no way back for the home side.

Embarrassing on Saturday. I joined in with the Toon fans calling people out.

Fans can't even be arsed for a 3pm kick off.

Agreed.

It was like a morgue at 1-0 and even at 1-1 it was very quiet, but they did stay until the end. Proper party after the whistle. Bloody Kaiser Chiefs!

Usually, thousands leave Elland early and the rest create a belting atmosphere for the last 15 minutes of the game. It was like that on one of our last 2 visits to Elland Road.

same fans who leave 10 mins before the end will be ones who moan over the team collapsing in the last few minutes of a game to ha

Well done all involved, seems to be money over atmosphere, even with Pep wanting a better atmosphere

Bloody hell, my quote’s gone viral haha

That’s actually a really good article. Best I’ve seen about the whole situation. Well done to all involved in getting this pushed into the press.

I’ve said for a while that the media are quick to disparage the club about many things, yet not in things where they are really being wankers. They’ll even make shit up that we do, yet don’t go after the actual easy target of how they don’t look after core supporters.

Opposite to what Arsenal fans were like this afternoon.

Even before the 90th minute, the atmosphere was dead and people were filing out. It’s like they didn’t believe they could do it.

We’re Man City, we fight til the end’, isn’t in their psyche
