Joshua Kimmich

Id love to bring him in on a free. Perfect replacement for Gundo and Kovacic.

So, we're swapping a 30-year-old for another 30-year-old? That doesn’t seem like the smartest long-term move. We should be targeting someone younger—Reijnders or another promising/thriving midfielder should be on our radar.

Kimmich will probably extend his contract, but even if he doesn’t, our focus should be on securing a younger option for now and the future rather than just a like-for-like replacement in terms of age. Lets avoid the twilight zone!

Replacing one 30 year old for another isn’t a good idea. We need more players between 24-29
It isn't a good idea to immediately improve a weak part of our squad. Ok mate.

Signing Kimmich wouldn't block anything else. Not everything has to be the smartest long term move when your trying to build back up to being the best in the world. Kimmich is an immediate improvement on our midfield options, foolish to not explore it.

He is perfect cover for RB (both traditional and inverted) and a backup DM or second DM.

The DM position is the perfect position for either a 60-70 minute sub or a 60-70 minute addition to nail it down.

Guardiola loves him, and he knows it, but my concern would be the multi-year, possible 3 or 4, he might require to leave his beloved home club…and that would not come with cheap wages.

If 3 or 4 of KDB, Bernardo, Gündo and Kova leave it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to bring in some experience (as long as it’s alongside a younger signing, and it isn’t too expensive).
It would be for a player that's playing for the club he loves, a player that does not want to leave Germany and a player that would be on north of 350k a week for 5 years and at the age of 30.

This is the sort of move that has destroyed the rags.

It’s not impossible that Kev, Gundogan, silva, Kovacic, Nunes all leave this summer leaving us with Rodri, Gonzalez, Foden as our midfield next season. 3 more needed, 2 at least. We have room for a world class Kev replacement in Wirtz, Kimmich and possible another young English talent like Wharton.

Kimmich would clearly be on a very large salary but this is offset by the lack of a fee and maybe a shorter contract of 3+ 1 years. For me he brings midfield experience and cover at RB with not a huge risk

He would get toasted for pace playing right back in our system

If he lowers his wage demands we should be all over him like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat.

Great player.
