North Stand Construction Discussion

I’m going over tomorrow mate, I’ll have a look and try to identify what it is. My initial thought was that it looks permanent possibly supporting the large screen.
Looks too thin for that, and also a ballache to get to internally should they need to. Feels more like it is temporary. But to what extent, no idea. Be surprised if any of us previously saw a screen of this size (a whole gable) get built. I would have thought they would build a permanent solid wall behind it and then hang the screen off it, rather than relying in the screen to be the wall. So that lattice is intriguing.

Your probably right mate, it just gives me the feeling that it is a support, I don’t think it’s going to be seen once the screen is fitted.

Looks like the raker beams have been installed right and left of the terrace. So expecting completion of the whole stand. Because I’m in a bar in Thailand I couldn’t hear cpoverviews narration so not sure if the caps on the spires have been installed or not on one of the pyramids. Girls are loud here the twats.

Still missing the lower section highlighted:

Also I ask this question again - you can see in that render in my last post that there's a gap between the end of the side stand third tier and the screen - in the DAC they state very clearly each one of those added 265 seats when the South Stand was done, I still don't understand why they've not filled them in this extension - that would have got the 61958 number to 62488... (anything to guarantee a capacity better than dippers and spuds)

I guess the other one to think about (but for not too long) is how far above the pitch will the roof walk be at that nasty little sticky out bit at the front of the roof! Even more than that 39m I recokon!

Might have covered it below, but if there are specific heights or figures I'll easily pull them.

If anyone knows or can find the height of the new Kippax before it went, some figures of the North Stand for comparison below.

The top of the actual roof (excluding structural supports) : 39 metres from outside ground. Internally, this is 46m above the pitch level - so add 7m to any figure below for height from the pitch.

64m to the top of the roof structure (from outside ground). This is actually interestingly just taller than the current tallest pier, of the east/west spirals, although it doesn't look it in perspective.

Technically the most inhabited point is the skywalk platform, at 54m above outside ground.

The highest seat in the stand is 32.5m above ground level (39.5m) above the pitch.

All these are higher than the south stand, but apart from the top of the structure (a good 7m of a difference), not by that much.

Re the New Kippax, if anyone has some figures or a drawing, we can compare. It is broadly level with the pitch, so the height from the ground is noticeable. It held 14,000 which is just under 2k less than the north stand, and it was the tallest stand in the UK at the time.

How's the rag stadium progressing?
Is INEOS in debt?

At Ineos Group alone the debt pile is expected to climb to almost €12bn (£10bn) this year, according to Fitch, or more than five times its earnings. The agency said there was “uncertainty” over the plan to repay related-party loans of £800m to other parts of the Ineos business empire.5 days ago.

Scruffy Jim's empire is crumbling, this rag decline may well be just beginning, the gift that keeps giving.
