But wasn’t he another one, who was good, both before he joined the rags and after he left?

I remember he was bloody awful in the last Maine Road derby.

Mind you, all the rags were that day, bar the gargoyle at right-back.

The thing is the world of football changed over the fergie era. You could buy a clanger in the early days as players were cheap and there was no transfer window. And you could force them out in the pre Bosman era. If you had a dud you just stuck them in the reserves and signed someone else.

By the late 00s it was all changed and a dud was on a 5 year multi million contract that you had to honour. Fergie did not adjust. He did minimal business as he couldn't cope with the wages and power players were getting. He rather bring Scholes out of retirement than buy a player.

Yep. Brilliant player until he signed for that mob then went back to Italy and won Serie A with Bobby.

Veron was a very good footballer but unsuited to the Premier League at the time. Baconface didn't know what to do with him. If you put him in a modern Pep team he'd have been the business as he was in Italy.

I believe it's got to that point now. The debt is crippling to everything we need to do.
Everyone should walk out before half time and not come back. Also don't buy anything from the shop or food and drinks. Even don't use the car parks if possible.
Perhaps print a load of flyers and try to get them stuffed into the programs or try to hand them out before the game or something.
We need to come up with big ideas so the protests are always seen and reported.
A small march isn't going to do anything. Games need to be disrupted on a regular basis.

Veron was a fine player (not for the RAGS). I used to love watching him for the Argies, he was smooth and had great passing range. Class player that Fergie used incorrectly - tried to fit him into his get it forward and wide as soon as possible system which did not play to Veron's skillset at all.

Not sure what gates leeds were getting then but its a moot point anyway. Leeds are a one team town and leeds has a huge population with many towns very near in addition with a fair populations that dont have football teams.

They have the most fickle fans. Despite all their success in the 70s the rarely topped our average attendance. In the 80s their highest aver attendance for the whole decade was 22,000. Their lowest average was 13,000. Embarrassment of a club.
