Russian invasion of Ukraine

I could get behind MUPA :)

I don’t disagree with your overall sentiment, but I do think Europe can hold their own against Russia. Collectively we have the economic and military base to do so, especially considering the losses Russia has already suffered.

Politically is where Europe has been lacking. The will to come out from under the US umbrella. Europe has to find that will.
Spot on.

I've got a horrible feeling Trump is doing his all to fook Ukraine..Hes even called Macron and Starmer for not having talks with Putin..Can Europe cope with Russia..
Trumps going all out for earth minerals and knows exactly what he wants, can Europe cope with Russia in the sense of war?, On the ground yes we could walk in tomorrow all the way to Moscow, Go nuclear and its over for us, i dont think MAD would apply we could only partially damage Russia

We could easily nuc enough of Russia to effectively render it useless.

Indeed. My understanding is that tactical nuclear weapons rather than strategic ones is our current deficiency since we retired the Vulcans? But the CDs who are likely to be in power in Germany imminently already appear to be discussing addressing this with the UK and France. I think the UK would need to lead to avoid falling foul of non proliferation treaties but perhaps unsurprisingly BAe have said it's a case of political will rather than manufacturing capability.

You read wrong. Trident is fully independent of the yanks

I know you know this stuff so correct me if I'm wrong but there was an FOI on this. No Permissive Action Link so no codes required, the sub commanders and crews can launch independently. We rely on the Americans for the longer term maintenance regime but In theory one of our Vanguards could sidele up to the Eastern seaboard and do it's worst and the US would not be able to stop launch.

(2 days of reading the British Defence Journal and the RUSI website and I'm in expert - lol!)

Read it once a month and you don’t have to go ballistic ;-)
