Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

We are basically being banjoed by every decent team we play where they don’t need to get out of 2nd gear.

£200m spent in January and look worse than we were in December.

Chronic mismanagement all over the shop.

Possibly, with the derby though, I thought we were the better team and but for two almighty cock ups we would have won the match. Today, I thought we got away with a 0-2 defeat and l’pool, could have gone into another gear and wiped the floor with us. Let’s face it, we all knew exactly how the match was going to pan out only a minute and a half in with Gvardiol’s customary misplaced pass just 10 yards off our own 18 yard box, I almost screamed at the telly when he did that.
I find that screaming at the telly helps and he doesn't do it again...

Just got home, and it went pretty much as expected if not slightly better. No one in the ground was that surprised or arsed, as we know all the flaws this season.

It all just felt very insipid, not resilience at the back and toothless up front.

I really enjoyed Co-op Live pre-match for the first time though.

To easy for Liverpool we played lots of sideways passes around there box then shot that either hit there player or straight at the keeper

We need a set piece coach as we was shite at them was funny when the guy near me shouted I hope it's gone for a throw instead of a corner for us

Why did we also keep crossing the ball high to foden when he was up against vvd he never going to win them headers

How can any manager send out a message saying, it's ok to be 2nd best this season because of what we have won in the past, Pep is the best manager in the world and letting players know its OK to lose is the biggest mistake in his career at City,

Being 2nd best is OK after the final game is played and you come up short, But saying in mid-season Kills any hope of winning the bigger games l
It doesn't send out a good message if you're fighting for 4th/ 5th spot. Sentiment doesn't win anything . I'm surprised at that actually . It's OK to say that in the final game of the season but not after you've been beaten by your rivals.
Needs to do better

Can’t believe that you can possibly come out with all this crap. Did you really think that City would win 5 in a row, then 6 in a row. When you have watched City for as long as I have, you become a realist. These things don’t last forever and every single team will go through a period like this. I agree that today wasn’t a fantastic performance, but I our circumstances it could have been worse. Pep has done so much for this club and believe me, he will be a hard act to follow. You don’t seem to be able to offer the name for a replacement manager, so don’t be upset if we bring in Sean Dyche.
It's not the winning 5 in a row or 6 in a row.

I think most people are agahst at how shit we have become. We have royally fell off a cliff.

Every game now we see the same mistakes, the same goals scored against us, the same ball over the top, the same lack of energy. We are just not good to watch anymore.

Pep doing nothing to try and fix the game when it is getting away from us. The same square pegs in round holes. Rico. Gundo etc...

From October the season has turned into a shit show.

We all thought the 4 signings would give us a lift and they haven't. Nothing against the new boys at all. They have been chucked into a really poor side absolute devoid of ideas and confidence.

The frustrating thing is I think Liverpool are bang average. They didn’t play well, we just didn’t fucking remotely get into the game.

It really pisses me off.

That’s the worst Liverpool team we’ve played in 10 years and we made it piss easy for them.
They didn't really need to play well though, did they? They knew their defence is effective, and would keep on snuffing us us out just long enough for them to add a couple of goals and knock us out!

I saw a lot to feel positive about today, a lot is about injuries and confidence, and it seems some of our former heroes have reached the home straight of the marathon, but the new signings show promise, and Savinho and Doku will continue to improve, so I am quite optimistic that this is a dip rather than a chasm.
Absolutley! They've given us years of magnificent times and endless trophies. It's sad to see kev and gundo like this, just like it was with yaya....nowt u can do when your legs go.... one season too far for most of these guys it seems.........but I think we've made a decent start in rebuilding in the jan window....we need another good summer window and I don't think we'll be a million miles away from being a top side again. We just need the right players in the centre of the park....its a cliche but games really are still won and lost in midfield and ours just has run out of steam. But I trust us to get things right in the future! :-)
