I agree as think didn’t think he was even captain material and tbh since kompany we haven’t had a leader on the pitch .And why or how is Gundogan qualified to assume control of Manchester City?

It's weird how his name always comes up as a replacement for Pep, not sure why but it just keeps happeningI agree as think didn’t think he was even captain material and tbh since kompany we haven’t had a leader on the pitch .
Tactically savvy player who's interested in coaching with playing experience under Pep and Klopp. Not that outlandish an option down the line if he gets some good coaching experience. It's weird how his name always comes up as a replacement for Pep, not sure why but it just keeps happening
He would need years learning his trade thoughTactically savvy player who's interested in coaching with playing experience under Pep and Klopp. Not that outlandish an option down the line if he gets some good coaching experience.
Well yea. Anyone thinking he takes over for Pep, unless Pep is still here a decade from now, is crazy. He would need years learning his trade though
Dias is and should be our leader, at least until Rodri is back 100%I agree as think didn’t think he was even captain material and tbh since kompany we haven’t had a leader on the pitch .
Tbf to him, there was plenty of that going on well before he was brought in.He is a liability to bring on when it’s tight. Nearly cost us again with his failure to track his runner in the last seconds
That chance though was gilt edged and could have fucked everything.Tbf to him, there was plenty of that going on well before he was brought in.
The same thing happened when Foden let Spence run into the channel just for Khusanov to recover. There were plenty of chances before that one where we could've conceded. That chance though was gilt edged and could have fucked everything.
Fact is, everytime he comes on he is never upto any type of the game speed. Spurs didn’t have a clearer chance all night. The same thing happened when Foden let Spence run into the channel just for Khusanov to recover. There were plenty of chances before that one where we could've conceded.

Not sure if he’s done yet. Remember he’s a top level athlete and is (only) 34. Probably thinks he’s another year or two in him and has been a lot of talk coming out of Turkey about teams interested in him out there. The sensible thing would be for him to be Pep’s assistant next season, do the Arteta role.

I know they are footballers and is the business but would they pack up and move for a 3rd straight year or would he happily retire and start coaching. I’m really unsure. Part of me thinks we won’t sell all those being reported with some of Bernado, Gundo, Stones and maybe even KDB staying but surrounding them with young, hungry, fit top prospects like Khusnaov, Reis, Savio, Nico etc.
He has an option for a year based on appearances and came on with a minute to go. I don’t think we would be worried about triggering an extension but worth pointing out.
I agree.Him being of Turkish heritage I would understand if he wanted to play in Turkey.
But he also wants to be an elite manager and is best mates with Pep. Would be a big missed opportunity in my opinion for both Gundo and Pep not to link up on the managers bench next season.
I’d love to see it anyway.
Player-coaches aren't really a thing anymore at the top level (though didn't Vinny do that in Belgium for a bit after he left City?) but I wonder would a player-assistant coach work?I agree.
I could also see a world where he goes to Turkey for a year, then retires and joins the coaching staff.
He deserves to play until he thinks he can’t anymore. Which makes me wonder does he just get another year here but still with a massive midfield rebuild. If Nunes and Kov went, still room for Gundo.
Don't think the jobs available, and I also have no idea whether Gundogan has any coaching ability whatsoever. Don't think any of us do.The sensible thing would be for him to be Pep’s assistant next season, do the Arteta role.
He's already got more shed loads more coaching experience than Mikel Arteta did when he became Pep's assistant.Don't think the jobs available, and I also have no idea whether Gundogan has any coaching ability whatsoever. Don't think any of us do.

Doubt Lilo will go anywhere, Pep holds Lilo in high regard and relies a lot on him. In fact just finished the Pep book, and even in the treble year when he’d left Pep was in contact with him and the back end of the season had him around the team and training. He's already got more shed loads more coaching experience than Mikel Arteta did when he became Pep's assistant.
Gundogan took his coaching badges years ago and was coaching City's youth teams while he was a player - a little side quest while captaining our team and winning trebles.
There is not a single doubt in my mind that Gundogan won't make an elite manager.
It's got to be time for the Spanish Keegan Lillo bloke to step aside and get some fresh ideas in. Gundo would be just the man to take that seat.

One thing, we know he’ll never be a bigger prick than Arteta. The sensible thing would be for him to be Pep’s assistant next season, do the Arteta role.
