And the ‘punishment ‘ for intentionally fouling and injuring a player so that he genuinely needs treatment would be playing the next five minutes with an extra man.

Allow players to receive any treatment they want off the pitch and allow them to come back on when able, and punish thugs and bad tackles with cards.

I’m pro VAR but that was shocking at the end. Haaland robbed.

He’s a very poor ref Gillett.

He thinks football is a non-contact sport. Gives fouls for absolutely everything.
Which then he takes into other incidents where he just blows his whistle all the time, like with Haaland’s goal then, his first instinct is to blow his whistle instead of giving the advantage to the attacker and letting VAR deal with it then.

Baffling decision, that. It took VAR - with multiple camera angles - 4 minutes to eventually decide that they couldn’t actually make a decision. Yet the ref can see it when he can’t actually see the ball behind 3 players all battling it out?!

How can he be absolutely adamant it’s handball? If he’s not, he shouldn’t give it and should allow VAR to do its job if it was.

Ridiculous, that. Would’ve been criminal if it would’ve mattered at the end.

On VAR too, it’s watched multiple camera angles showing it hitting Haaland’s chest, Gray’s arm and Danso’s chest/arm but can’t rule out it not being handball? Strange.
