You know what's really puzzling me? Salah and VVD are similar ages to KDB, Gundo, Bernie. And they last 90 minutes, are not goosed and are fitter and faster. I don't think it's just that they probably benefit from asthma medication * there is something more going on. Are we being coached in a dire way, are we knackered? Just such a stark difference between the ' oldies' ( ffs when was 34 old???!!) in either team. That lot are comfy in games, ours most decidedly are not.....
To be fair to Kev, he is hardly the epitome of an athletic shape. He has that old-school 80's footballer look about him. It was the same with Aguero and Tevez.
The injuries as well, those hamstring tears have decimated his pace and dexterity in his legs.
Salah on the other hand, is the epitome of an athlete. I also think his religion helps with him not being able to drink alcohol which I think is understated at how detrimental that is to lengthening of an athlete's career.
Salah was quite the late bloomer as well, he didn't really become an elite CL player until his mid 20s whereas De Bruyne was smashing it as young player of the season in Germany aged 21/22 and POTY a year or two later.
