Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

Nobody's disputing that United have still got more supporters (albeit I would dispute their published attendance) but you're labouring a point by suggesting that they've suffered a poor decade of trophy success
The last time I looked they were the FA Cup Holders and their cup scheme is stricter than ours

In contrast we faced yet another shite kick off time and the knowledge that Pep would rest most of his regulars against plucky, but technically inferior opponents.

50,000 was still a good turnout and it would have been more if the club hadn't got so arsey about the Plymouth post codes
I don't think 'in contrast' really affected the ticket take up.

Regarding the other posts saying there were loads of empty seats in the upper parts of the stands at Old Trafford, fair enough. I didn't see those on the match highlights.

A sobering thought.

United are shit.
United have had a poor decade of trophy success.
Scruffy Jim increased the FA Cup ticket prices against Fulham to £52.
From watching the highlights of the match, Old Trafford looked full or pretty full.
Fulham only brought 3000 fans.

City haven’t played great this season.
City have had over a decade of success.
The FA Cup ticket prices against Plymouth were priced competitively.
The Etihad wasn’t full.
Plymouth brought 8000 fans.

What the swamp was full of empty seats !

They have won the fa cup twice, including last year as we know only too well, the league cup twice and the UEFA Europa league in the last ten years. So that's five trophies. While it's not the dizzy heights of Ferguson's days it's not too shabby.

You wouldn't of, the bbc would of made sure they kept away from them.

There seemed to be several thousand empty seats at Old Trafford yesterday. That has been highlighted on City/ Utd banter forums and no red has disputed that they had thousands of empties.

Not really sobering.
Thousands of empty seats at Old Trafford. As seen on TV.
Does your point still remain?
Priced out or not?

No you're wrong there mate
I'm guessing you're my age and want to attend every match regardless of the opposition.

However this was the exact type of fixture to reinforce the notion that the new breed of fan isn't necessarily bothered about cost, and is just as likely to not bother for other reasons, not least that (for them) it wasn't an attractive fixture.

I had three spare tickets from cup scheme members who simply couldn't be arsed and nobody showed even the remotest interest
Even blues who travelled with me to PSG didn't want them.

There's a saturation level that might be being hit now, add to that blues being disillusioned by the sheer amount of tourists and the shit atmosphere.

Buy a citizens account for £35 you might get a ticket
Emails from the club to not be a ****
Club flogging blocks of tickets to one match attending fans
Sit with your friend or family member? Fuck you!

When you start shitting on your core support and stop your home being a fortress don't be surprised they just fuck you off.

Apart from that mate, it's all well and good.

Everyone can always buy a season ticket if they want to attend or buy a super duper Willy Wonka gold flexi ticket for £150, not for a match ticket mind you have to pay for that as and when you go :)
At least with those City do the donkey work of locating existing season card holders with family on new flexi-golds. I don't like the set up fees (that could be negotiated down) but there are benefits to flexi-golds for families of Blues who struggle to get tickets together.

City need to go through all the Citizen cards and delete the ones that haven't been used for a few seasons. Those will mostly belong to away fans who have bought a citizen card to watch their team in the CL, PL, and FA Cup games. That will get rid of possible away fans in the home ends in the future.
