It’s natural selection playing out. If you’re too stupid to look after your kids, then you risk losing them.
The anti-vax thing doesn’t necessarily stay true to political borders. In my very, very liberal county I know a few very, very liberal types who were anti-vax . . . . rrrrriiigggghhhtttt up til COVID. Changed their tunes real quick then.

I suppose it’s good to be the child of a hypochondriac mom. That said, I’ve put off my shingles vax which is right stupid of me.

While the vast majority of children in the U.S. get the MMR vaccine on time, certain communities have shied away from it for religious or cultural reasons, creating pockets of vulnerability for the virus to take hold. In 2017, Minnesota saw a measles outbreak in their growing Somali community, and in 2019, measles tore through the Orthodox Jewish community in New York City and neighboring counties, eventually infecting more than 650 people.

It’s still natural selection at work though.

We seem to be in an era with an unregulated, infinite media that is able to discredit anything any expert says, so it’s down to the individual to cut through the bullshit.

Not everyone is though. Perhaps the people pontificating anti-vax disinformation need to face the consequences of their words, but I’ve no idea how you do that in this day and age.

Their words have contributed to the deaths of children.

I’d be getting that shingles vaccine asap, along with any others in the aUs a market. Typhoid, diphtheria, rabies, Ebola, yellow fever. The lot!

Shingles is awful.

Friend of mine is disfigured for life.

Get it booked now. Do it.
Years ago I took one of my daughters to the docs (think she was around 10/11).
She was a little anxious (such is the waiting room of a GP) so we tried to lighten the mood.

We scanned those ailment posters & leaflets on the wall and saw one advising the elderly to be aware of shingles. We joked that it would be bizarre if she had shingles at her age.

Turns out she did. Early stages of it (more the pain rather than something starting to show on her flesh).
Was agonising for her but was eventually sorted.
This was around the time she was diagnosed with autism and her anxiety levels were off the scale, and part of this presented as shingles.

A few years ago my son (also struggling with anxiety) had these bubbling flesh marks that were tremendously paifil (looked like his skins was burnt) and that too was shingles.
Again, likely his mental health manifesting as shingles.

Awful. I've never had it but would absolutely back getting a vaccine.

Get it done mate, anyone who's had shingles will tell you it's horrible.

Alt National Park Service

After we published a public audit on Saturday, Elon Musk’s DOGE deleted hundreds more claims from its mistake-plagued “wall of receipts,” wiping out an additional $4 billion in so-called savings that the group had claimed to secure for U.S. taxpayers. By late Sunday night, DOGE had erased or altered more than 1,000 contracts it previously claimed to have canceled—amounting to over 40% of all contracts listed on its site last week.

Additionally, we will soon release an updated list of all DOGE staffers.

(FB account that's having a great deal of fun showing up DOGE for the liars they are)

So DoGE is only saving 60% of what they claim they are. How terrible.

What are they saving though and for who?

The tax payer?

Are American tax payers waiting for a 60% reduction in their taxes?
Bad numbers. The claim is that whatever DOGE is claiming they have stopped in waste, fraud and misuse - they've really only stopped 60% of thag claim.

So you wouldn't expect a 60% reduction in taxes from that. At best ,whatever reduction in taxes you moght have expected, it would only actually be 60% of that reduction.

But in reality, it's not about a reduction in taxes now is it? Its about using the tax collected more efficiently.

How can anyone really be opposed to that?

Trump upped tariffs on Canada I expect they will do the same, it’s just getting stupid now, Trump wants reciprocal tariffs he’s getting them

There's always been a subset of hippie types that are all about natural remedies and not putting 'chemicals' into their body though.
