So City can appeal the decision. I am struggling to see how the PL could appeal a liability decision, though. The panel hasn't dismissed the complaint, they won't have decided on a sanction and there is no interim applications involved.

Maybe this is an indication no appeals will be allowed until after a sanction hearing, if one is needed? It's hard to imagine an appeal panel being created to reconsider liability, after which this panel is reconstituted to consider sanctions / costs.

“Dismissal” here means finding City not liable of a breach. So the primary basis for an appeal. The question of appeal will likely depend on the factual findings and what is left open for questioning by an appeal in terms of the application of law.

It doesnt matter either way in the grand scheme of things, of course both sides will be confident, it would be madness for the pl to go all this way in the case at a cost of millions if they werent confident and it would be equally as mad for city to defend it so vociferously if they werent confident, and both sides have to project that confidence, as i said before the pl were confident with the apt thing and just this sunday the rags were confident that they are on the right track to win the pl, expressing confidence verbally doesnt equate to actually having confidence.

Citys actions in recent times have shown a level of confidence but the pls actions in multiple instances where they expressed confidence that was ultimately misplaced i.e with the leicester case and the apt case shows that them indicating confidence doesnt really mean an awful lot.

It was certainly designed to get revenue in, but we don't know the details at all, do we?

I rather think the question is how Fordham was reimbursed for their losses and whether those reimbursements should have been / were included in the club's expenses? If you can put my mind to rest on that issue, then I would be more confident.

(Yes, I know it's only around 12 million a year, but over the five years, was it?, that's 60 million. Not enough to affect the true and fair view of the accounts as a serious issue, but enough to be embarrassing to the club if the expenses were found to be "hidden").

Didn't UEFA consider Fordham to be against the "spirit of the rules" rather than breaking them, if I remember correctly a lot of (all?) clubs were trying similar workarounds.

There's no way that we did as requested by UEFA and shut it down but then tried to hide any payments related to it. To be honest that question comes across as paranoid schizophrenia at best.

Is that not how business supposed to run?

Same here, its like a hate train take over.

He was quite involved with City and Pep, he seemed to have a direct line to Pep and I remember Pep acknowldghing him a few times. But (I think) he went to the Athletic, they, after all their promises not to, ended up being another tribalism linked, shit for clicks publication, they targeted City, Sam Lee was City correspondent, we hated him.

I dont mind him, he has gone down in my estimation but people need to earn somehow, he's got more respect from me because he doesnt talk as much shit as other reporters and tbh his news is somewhat reliable but sometimes not so..

I think a lot of it stems from around the Uefa ban where he was predicting doomsday scenario for clickbait. He then saw his arse on twitter & blocked loads of City fans on twitter mainly because it became common knowledge he was a rag.

I agree with that view that it was strictly legal and above board but not necessarily within the spirit of the FFP rules. UEFA had the opportunity to take action against us yet didn't.
