PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Given that the parties get the Judgment in advance, and in view of the PL's recalcitrant attitude towards release of the APT findings, it wouldn't surprise me if the club are already aware of the decision but the PL are delaying it's release whilst they manage timings and comms. .
This has been at the back of my mind for a while now. City apparently threatened to make the APT award public unilaterally though we didn't prepare the way with winks (or nudges) but the MSM had shown some signs of movement towards City's case in the days before the award was made public. But we don't know yet in this case because we haven't seen the evidence (do we know the precise nature of the charges yet?!) and we're dealing with clues which may not be clues; we'll have to wait and see, so my view hasn't changed since before CAS - I trust the club and all those who own and run it.

When City is absolved of all charges Masters still won't wear it. They'll be more trumped up ones.
This,if we are cleared of everything concerning the 115,it’ll be a few months down the line and something else will appear,my only comfort would be that a good majority would start to smell a very large rat for all this ongoing smear campaign..

When the announcement is made, I hope Stefan gets an embargoed version so that he can post the main findings on here, saving us having to trawl through the misguided spin that will inevitably spout forth from the mainstream media.
Very unlikely. Prepare for it to take a week or more for any proper detailed analysis. I don't think people realise how long it will take to digest the full thing. Headlines will rule for a long time.

When is the announcement due?

Not that we have been found innocent. I mean the announcement from the rest of the footballing world when we are, that we have...

"Gotten away with it"
"Paid somebody off"
"They can do what they want"
"The rules don't apply to City"
"Football is finished"
"I want my ball back"

It will follow i assure you. I understand it from rival fans. But the sporting press will be at it.
The salty tears will be like a tsunami. Fuck em!
Don’t forget the one, football isn’t the same anymore..

I don’t think the club should be briefing our fans, that could play out poorly.

However, we will have a statement prepared (as we will have the verdict before the public), so this will give a starting point.

By the time your watching it most people’s minds are made up anyway.
I didnt say brief our fans. nvm I know what you mean.

Straight away I would imagine.
We are hearing it right now even before the verdict, fans of other clubs mainly cartel clubs are already saying “they’ll get of Scott free but will always be known as cheats”

Put yourself in their shoes imagine if it was the scum do you seriously believe you would think any different especially when your own club is toast and fuckall to look forward to. Jealousy of a clubs constant success breeds hate and envy and anything out of the ordinary you would latch onto.
That said the scum and their red shirted Bessie mates started all this fair play shite
You reap what you sow etc

So will the results happen well before the reasons the Panel came to those decisions are published?

A Blue.
Maybe that would have been a good one for The Athletic to put in their essential / preferred attributes for the job specification when recruiting for the post of Manchester City correspondent ;-)
Genuine question
Are there any city fans that work in the media I’m talking mainly news articles online or newspapers not the likes of wedderburn etc

Given the surge in activity of this thread and the seemingly impending announcement of the Independent Commission's findings I thought it might be worth pointing out (again) that in order for the club to have undertaken the accounting fraud alledged by the Premier League it would have had to collude with or defraud no fewer than six major financial stakeholders:

BDO as Independent auditors
Silverlake as minority shareholders
Barclays as banking facilities provider
Oak View Group as joint venture partner for the Coop Arena
The Court of Arbitration for Sport
Numerous major sponsors and Puma as kit manufacturer who would've been reluctant to associate with fraudsters

Not to mention other more minor stakeholders (minor in financial terms), such as the players, manager and fans.

I mean, it all sounds pretty fucking fanciful, doesn't it, compared to the idea that the Premier League has simply engaged in a witch hunt at the behest our rivals.

Occam's Razor, and all that.

If I was him, or any other City fan on social media, I would steer well clear of any media immediately following the verdict. Rushing to judgement in the days following will be difficult enough for the lawyers amongst us let alone any normal people.

Remember the days following the APT judgment? City won, no they didn't the PL won, no it was a score draw, then City lost because the PL went ahead with their changes, then City won when the rules were null and void, except they aren't because the new rules are valid. Or are they? It's an absolute minefield that even the best of lawyers lost some reputational limbs on.

Stay away would be my advice. City fans owe the media nothing on this issue.
Good advice

I understand that for such a lengthy hearing, covering so many different charges (albeit in groups) that the written judgment will be very long. Maybe the panel will make a nice little executive summary for us to read.
