PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I wonder if Mullock has been given a nod from the club as like you say its the first time that anyone has remotely mentioned the possibility of City being cleared. I can imagine the cartel clubs fans are all over this

I thought this too. Either way, it's really disappointing that it's taken this long in proceedings for any in the media to discuss the possibility of City winning, and as a result, the huge impact this would have on the Premier League. That was always the bigger story, but sadly it didn't fit their narrative.

I don't know if anybody listens to Big Steves podcast "We are the south stand", but he said earlier this evening that he got an email recently from the BBC and ITV about coming on when the charges result drops.

ITV and the BBC told him in the email they have been briefed the results are imminent.

I think we are going to know during the international break.
Refer to the transfer thread for how broad the word ‘imminent’ is …

It doesn't make sense at all.

If they know anything, they will break the story themselves instead of emailing Big Steve about it.

I have to say I’m not 100% confident in the IC to come to the “right” decision. The IC didn’t do a great job in the last case against Everton and it took the appeal to correct the mistake. I could be we’ll have to win the appeal to get this over with…
How did they get on with the Leicester case ??

They don't know anything as of yet.

They've been briefed that the results are imminent, likely during the next international break and it's a preparation message so ITV and BBC can ready themselves for the big story and get their interviewees in place.

Big Steve said he has been asked to be interviewed for his opinion on the matter in due course when the result is dropped. He believes that he wouldn't have got that email if the BBC and ITV hadn't been briefed that the results is imminent.

It's been widely predicted, even by Pep if I recall that we will be hearing something March/April time. So it all ties in.

Anyone see ‘we are the south stand’ with Big Steve?
He said he’d had an email off ITV and the BBC asking him if he’d be interested in coming on a show to discuss the verdict on the 115 charges.
He said he sent a reply back saying this is abit random and asked when’s the verdict?
He was told imminent.
Anyway here it is if anyone’s interested.
Roughly 36.30 onwards, only talks about it for a minute or two.

It's funny when I first started in here it was all Sam Lee was the one to listen too wait and see what Sam is saying. Then all of a sudden a big turnaround to Sam Lee KFA, don't know what he did to upset posters. Truth is neither are or were true, just something in betwe
en.Somethings he says will turn out right, some will turn out wrong. Don't know what all the fuss is about.
Narrrr. Disagree mate. Once a ****,always a ****.
Sam Lee is a rag ****. Move on

The thing is, pretty much all journalists have to be cunts these days to make a living but when the journalist is supposed to be covering a particular club one expects, probably naïvely, that he will be more balanced, pro-club even. Lee started off OK but he has made too many mistakes and so he gets called out. Once he had spoiled his reputation with the fans it was almost impossible for him to get it back.

It's all perfectly normal behaviour these days, I am afraid. From both the journalist and the fans.

Yes.

All driven by research firms findings of their subscribers rather than balanced news.

Very few journos are allowed to "print" balanced articles without editorial influence.

There not cunts to Liverpool fans though, they don’t have the bottle to even call them out for jibbing into finals despite admitting it on camera.

Actually think it is most likely the the original IC will finish its case by deciding sanction (if any) and then allowing the whole thing to go to appeal
At what point? With this decision?

Exactly what I thought. Mullock is one of City’s go to journalists so to pen that article so close to the verdict dropping makes you wonder if he’s had a steer.
For me there is only one Journo who is what I would describe as being a disciple of truth and that is Martin Samuel. The only one that I would trust for having honesty and principles at the root of his pieces - regardless of the impact and repercussions on the red cartel.

If that's all kosher, then you have to ask who's 'briefed' the BBC and ITV? These proceedings are meant to be confidential. City, the PL, a Tribunal insider? I personally think the media already know the outcome, because they know how the hearings went, if not because they've been told the verdict. Of course I could be completely wrong, but there hasn't been the pile-on I was expecting after the latest Tebas remarks. It's the opposite of how they behaved before the CAS verdict was announced. It's gone very quiet, and we've even had the Mullock story daring to consider City will be cleared and that the PL have not been acting in good faith! Last week feels like a final desperate parting shot. Could just be me deluding myself, but time to load our guns, just in case.

If that is true, that doesn't sound good at all. The first bit of rumour in a long time that has had me feeling momentarily worried.

Why?? If the BBC and ITV had heard its not gone our way they would be lining up people to tear our club apart not somebody who will defend the club to the hilt.

If you think the media have an idea how it went, and know it is coming soon. And are inviting someone like Big Steve to feature when it breaks... I'm sorry but I can't see past that being anything but bad news for us.

Big IFs of course.
