Yeah sorry but the game is up with Jack, staggering out of night clubs pissed when you need to be focused to get back in Pep's favour isn't professional.
We didn't pay North of 150 million, fee and wages for someone to be nice to kids... however much I admire that.
He went out on a sunday to a working mans club. City didn't have another game for a week. What do you want him to do? On his insta he is constantly posting his extra training and things he does. Plymouth aside, when Pep finally gives him a chance he has performed well, better than some of Peps favourites who he can't let go so what do you want him to do, never leave the house? Never socialise? I don't think he has been given much respect this season by Pep so why do you demand it back? His time here is done and nothing is going to change that.

He made a big impact in the best season of our clubs history, but flattered to deceive before then and afterwards.

I get that you want to defend him and he's a likeable guy mate, but do you honestly think staggering out of a club pissed is gonna help him win his place back from Doku or Savio. Which is what he should be doing as a professional on 300k a week?
Do you think his actions will impress Pep?
I'm sorry but he's letting the club and us fans down with this lifestyle.

He probably knows he's out the door and the amount he plays despite solid performances is pretty evident of that, so I couldn't care less about what he does off the pitch.

Everyone keeps bringing up the transfer fee and wages, but that's what the club deemed his value to be. He's generally failed to live up to it besides the treble season, so let's just cut our losses and let him go. It's the best move for all parties except for maybe the club that takes him on if he fails to get consistently fit or motivated. Sure I'd like to see him turn it around in the last couple months he has here, but he's not going to play outside of the FA Cup.

Very serious, and I gave the examples in my post which you may want to ignore as it doesn't suit a narrative. Grealish doesn't get a chance in a decent game often, or a standard league game for that matter. It doesn't have anything to do with his performance when he does get a shot in the cups, because he has come out of those games with goals and assists. He just isn't fancied which is fine but I can see why it would be demotivating for a player in that situation, especially when so many players keep getting rewarded with a starting place after playing shite.
Who are these players playing his role in the team that are playing shite, while Jack is lighting up lives???

That’s delusional.

As I’ve said, he’s been given a few runs, but then he’s broken down and has to get back in line. Has he EVER had a MOTM game? And, I do mean EVER in a City shirt?!

Meanwhile, Doku & Savinho have been tearing it up on the flanks.

I get that you might feel like Havk should be given a chance in midfield or inside, because (say) Foden or Gundo have not been cutting it, but they’re spending plenty of time on the bench, too!

If he can stay fit, he’ll get his chances. If he takes those chances, he will play. It’s that simple, so where is Pep making his mistake? In not giving him his chance? In not seeing his great contributions? Sorry, I’m just not seeing it.

Lastly, I have no “narrative” with any player. I call it as I see it, because I know almost every single one of them came from somewhere else and will probably end up somewhere else. I only care how they help my club win. The end.

This is a bullshit attitude!

I don’t care what he does EVER once he’s off the payroll. Until then, he OWES the club his best level of professionalism!

If I said, I’m retiring in a few months, so don’t worry what I do outside the cockpit, because I don’t need to be professional anymore, people would shit and others might die.

He even owes it to HIMSELF to be the best professional he can be, and that’s not a switch you turn on at 3pm on Saturday and turn off a few hours later!

In a few years, he can do his best Gazza, Merson, whomever impression, but at £1M per week RIGHT NOW, I’d be having a firm word in his ear.

Nothing to do with that. Im not that shallow

Didn't mean it like that, I'm glad your daughter had a great day, bet she was buzzing it was with him, kids don't know half of it thankfully, I'm just still reeling from being told off by you, thought I was engaging with my mother telling me what to do :)

He's a footballer who doesn't have lives in his hand like a pilot, surgeon, etc. so let's just stop with that comparison already.

There are plenty of people either in the squad or in the club leadership who have had numerous opportunities to step in and cut him out if he's causing an issue but here we are after months of this behavior and there's no sign of it changing. He certainly does owe his employer professionalism, but he's either not being punished or the consequences aren't severe enough for him to shape up.

It is what it is at this point and there's nothing any of us and seemingly the people around him at the club can do about it. He wants to sit back and waste 2 seasons of his career, then so be it. No sense getting all wound up about it.

Not wound up about it at all.

Just willing to point out that no matter who he is, as a contract player at a club paying handsomely for his services, he owes it to his employer to be as professional as possible. As an athlete, that means on a daily basis, not just 2 hrs a day at the CFA and 2 hrs a week on the pitch. He represents the club and is a high profile individual.

One wonders how we would feel if it was, say, Nico O’Reilly, who is trying to make his name? Or Rodri, who definitely isn’t playing any time soon?

Haha
I do like grealish. He comes across as a decent down to earth bloke. And anyone that meets him says the same. My pal worked closely with the players and he sais in 15 years jack is by a million miles the nicest player hes come across.
I wont say who the worst was!!!

His treble season contribution was amazing but i admit he was a brief shooting star.

It just tickles me how people on here get their knickers in a twist over his antics that, lets face it, are tame. We just hear about it because … its jack grealish.

I think hes gone in the summer , thats clear.
But the hysterics on here are funny

I wouldn't say anyone is hysterical.

We're discussing our most expensive player who seems not to want to be professional and do his best for our club anymore.

As Pep said, he wants to see the treble version of Jack, so what does Jack do ?
Stagger out of clubs pissed.

It's like when he was injured yet made himself available for England.
He appears not to care too much for our club I'm really surprised he's not been shunted out like Cancello.
Pep seems to like him personally, but then again, he's very likeable apparently.
And he wins a lot of free kicks and did well against Salford :)

His antics might be tame, but what probably riles folk that he’s out getting bladdered whilst providing virtually zero productivity on the pitch. All whilst picking up £300k per week.

Don’t think folk would mind all this off field stuff if he actually turned up for us.

Well you're going to have to tell us who the worst was now, otherwise it's just not fair.

It's funny how everyone is getting wound up over a rotation player.
People need to decide what he is

Rotational player when team doesn’t play well

Or generational talent when team plays well

Can’t be both ways

When team wins he gets all the praise even if he is not the best player and
When team loeses he doesn’t get the bland as everyone else was shit

He’s done at City. A decent signing. Some real highlights. But never quite lived up to the billing. Still glad we signed him though. A fantastic character and, I think, a really decent person.

And very much part of that amazing, record breaking cohort. The greatest team ever assembled. So not sure how anyone can say he didn’t deliver. He played regularly in the best English club side ever. How is that not delivering?

It’s an amazing achievement by any objective measure.

Sadly I think that’s a fair comment. His off field stuff suggests he has problems and Pep will not tolerate it. Jack is an excellent player but seems to have some demons.

Was important during the treble season.
Has better chance creation than people think.or give him credit for.
Is under utilised stood on the left touchline.
From a pure football perspective should have played much much more this season particularly in place of old man Gundo.
Seems like a good guy.

For his career he probably needs go to a club where's he's given a bit more freedom on the pitch.
