Open Letter on Season Tickets and Pricing | Club announce price freeze on "general admission season tickets & PL match tickets" for next season (p163)

TBH I can't see that happening as he's been at City scince starting off in the ticket office at Maine Road and working his way up at City.

Saying that, if Scruffy Jim and Omar came calling, showed him the vision of a new stadium, offered him better employment terms and conditions, and more importantly, offered him a more hands on role in his new position at United, he might be tempted?

From a City point of view, it would be a big loss.
Ratweazle probably thinks he can do the job himself.

I think in the not too distant future, we will have a new raft of Directors but that's just my guess.

Danny might progress further at City but I think it is more likely that we will see new faces.

I preferred it when we took bigger allocations for these European away games and filled them. There’s too many games now relative to what a lot of people can afford.

That said, I noticed over the years that we seem have quite a few retired and fairly affluent Blues at the European away group stage games.
Agree 100% with the last paragraph and I would guess that around 200+ supporters (including me) fall into that category of retired and affluent

However we've now reached the stage where, aside from Bratislava last September, we've played at most of the venues on at least 3 occasions in recent memory, and it's all becoming a bit of a chore

My only complaint relating specifically to European away tickets is that the system adopted by the Ticket Office is relatively archaic when compared to our PL rivals

Irrespective of points if you travelled to at least 3 from Sporting Lisbon, Juventus PSG or Real Madrid then you should be in the first group eligible for tickets for all of next season's European games (assuming a reasonable allocation)
Next should be 2/4 and then open sale.

None of this farting around hoping that it eventually comes down to your points, especially when it usually does, but all the cheap flights have long gone.

I agree mate. I think groups of regular attendees (for our CL away games) should be prioritised so they can booker cheaper flights and accommodation early.

On here, some posters possibly get triggered if they see a reference to Supporters Clubs (as in my previous post) but I think the priority should apply to any regular CL attending Blues.

It would be a big loss? HAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAAAA

Well done to Alex, Michael and Dan for taking a stance; it’s more appreciated than they’d think in what appears to be a thankless task. It’s completely and utterly on the club that it’s got to this point. We’re at a tipping point & their lack of any common courtesy is damning

This thread covers many issues and some are easier to resolve than others
However the allocation criteria for the vast majority of European Away fixtures could easily be improved.

For all sorts of reasons we were never going to sellout for Juventus and yet I had two mates literally waiting for days until they became eligible for a ticket
That fixture should have been on open sale at least a week earlier

To be honest I've only been in a Supporters Club for the last 3 seasons and apart from the odd league match (Luton away last season) I usually qualify for a ticket based on my own points.

However, I would have been absolutely shafted without a local branch (not mine) running a coach to Brighton for an evening kick off last season
Ditto Spurs last fortnight

Both those games went down to low points so nobody missed out on a ticket regardless of whether they were a member/non member of the OSC.

We still haven't had a date for the extraordinary meeting on season tickets.

As such, I (along we some of my other City Matters colleagues) will not be taking part in any meetings with the Club until this is resolved. I will however, still be happy to receive emails and will try to deal with any concerns that fans share with me.

See above. Good on you

If they're regular, I'm pretty sure they'd be fine for CL away tickets given how far down the points criteria they go nowadays

It's pretty standard for fans to gamble and book flights ahead. Usually the evening of the draw!

CL aways definitely fall into the category of "if you want a ticket, you'll find one"

Cheers mate, it's a good question and I don't really know to be honest. Hopefully we'll have a date for the meeting very shortly.

I think there will be an extraordinary directors meeting at the start of next week, never mind an extraordinary City Matters meeting.

Especially if they offer him free wellies, and some rat poison.

I agree about Danny Wilson. I think he has the fans interests at heart, but his hands are tied by those directors above him at the club. He has to be seen to be doing his job, even though I think he doesn't always agree with everything he is being tasked to do by the directors above him.
I’ve nothing but praise and thanks for Danny. Just my take but he’s helped me personally on a couple things.

Not always. I’ve got a mate whose dedicated his working live to keeping our Country safe and has lived near military bases around the globe. He’s retired now and doesn’t have the points. He wants to go to all the European aways and relies on pedestrian ticket criteria reaching his points (or not). He gambles on getting some flights and tickets but can’t always do that for Madrid and Italy where there are thorough ID checks. Faster working ticket criteria could result in us having bigger away followings for European aways.

Apologies if I have missed something here (a few bad things happened personally in recemt months) - am I right in saying the club is not going to be allowing us to renew traditional season tickets, and we'd have to buy a Flexi one?

We're not trying to create an anti-City story but the club need to start engaging properly, particularly on really important issues like ticketing. The recent press release from Liverpool about their season ticket prize freeze credited a long and collaborative engagement with their own FAB for helping them come to that decision. To date we've had effectively none.
Pretty disgraceful from the club that.
