A half-relative has won a scholarship at a private school through their cricket academy. There is no way his family could afford the fees but he has potential to become a county championship cricketer and then, who knows? Some private schools also specialise on children with special needs, often this doesn’t just mean they have learning difficulties but because they have behavioural conditions that can disrupt lessons and make life difficult for state primary and secondary school teachers. If these places close of become unaffordable, it will make life even more difficult for stressed teachers and other pupils. It is not a one size fits all situation, but the speed with which this VAT imposition along with NI increases for employers seems plain wrong. I can see both sides, but just thought it should have been given more time to think things through, but I know some will disagree because they think all private schools are full of posh kids.
