Gareth Taylor sacked

He was said to be absolutely crap as an academy coach before he was bizarrely rewarded with this job
Weren’t there rumours that he was Marwood’s man and thus protected from shit performances?

Feels like everyone disliked him and thought he needed sacking, and now everyone's saying it was harsh!
I don’t think the decision itself was harsh, just the timing. I’m sure he would have been dismissed at the end of the season anyway.

He's been a bit shit, not helped by injuries to an extent THIS season and seemingly been involved in numerous rifts with the players.....I don't know enough to say if the bad feelings are caused by him or other factors but, I do know we generally play fucking awful football and have for more than just this season.

He was even in our dark days a very average footballer for the men's team and was equally a very average manager for the ladies.

Ruby mace has also liked the official insta post announcing Taylor’s departure

According to reports Nick Cushing isn’t in the running to take the job full time beyond the end of the season

Years overdue/shocked it's finally happened. Hopefully they look beyond their own noses and we're not stuck with Cushing or some other internal appointment (and that goes for other former players) for yet more underperforming, needs more ambition and professionalism not less.

Not sure how some are still sympathizing with Chloe Kelly. As someone posted, she has been literally shit since her goal at the Euros. In addition, as I remember she badmouthed the club, not Taylor. Some will never ever give up on some players, women or men, even when they are obviously shit characters and/or players.

Personally, I’m far too invested in the men’s team to attend women’s games, but I’ve watched plenty on TV and got to know most of the players. Unfortunately, I can’t shake the feeling that the team is like the legendary Star Trek red shirts—always making it to the latter stages of competitions, only to be eliminated so the real "main characters" (Barça, Lyon, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc.) can take center stage.

It must be frustrating for the club that the Joie Stadium is so poorly attended—yesterday looked like barely 500 people. I almost went to the derby until they scheduled it for a Sunday night, which seemed ridiculous. If that place were packed, the extra 5% boost could make a real difference in getting them over the line more often.

Not sure if Gareth Taylor had anything to do with losing Weir, Stanway, and Walsh, but that exodus set the team back years, in my opinion. I know this is a bit of a rant, but I really hope they can finally overcome the Chelsea curse—though I wouldn’t be shocked if they lost all four games. Hopefully, I’m wrong, and they have a brilliant run-in with lots of success. If Greenwood and Hemp are involved, plus a bit of a new coach bounce, it could still happen.
Rant over.

Hardly a surprise, just bitterness. I have some sympathy with Ellie, but not with Chloe, she'd been pretty shit since the euros.

We have better players in the squad now imho.

I have sympathy with Kelly in so far as much that he, by all accounts, didn't treat her very well. And I think there's enough corroborating accounts from other players who endured similar (e.g. Roebuck).

I don't feel sorry for Kelly for being dropped (she was put of form and better options emerged) and I don't agree with the manner in which she left. But I think regardless of whether a player is in form or whether or not they have a long term future at a club, they deserve to be treated with respect and a manager should be able to communicate with all of his squad.
