North Stand Construction Discussion

That linking piece can't be done until the roof beams at least are up as it's used for storage for them prior to the lift.

Edit: screen grab from @ssskies video
Allowing say 5weeks to finish the concrete floors and roof on the “office”that hopefully will allow the delivery and on-site fabrication of the 4 roof beams we should be in a position to erect the steelwork for the link to the stand

Why only 4? I think it's only for the west side part of the roof, that storage at the back of the commercial building but there should be more than 4 more due?

As for the link steelwork, maybe so.

plus we know there's some more angled ones to go on either end of the 10 centre ones
Indeed but I suspect the 4 outer ones will be done later as there a no supports (yellow) installed as yet , but it’s only a semi-educated guess :)

The very end one will be bolted onto a upright which will be fixed on the side of the stand where they are fixing the cladding so will not need a yellow support

Also I have never been able to work out why they have left a section of concrete seating on both sides and both sections have a missing racker beam (I think that is the right word)

I assume so they can crane stuff down to below the terrace - but of those sections, the top half will eventually get terrace like the rest of the stand and the bottom half of each will be squared off flat to create space for wheelchair fans

Wonderful work which will be archived for future generations to watch and glean information. A silver lining sadly brought about by a concerning condition. Hopefully you are now fully recovered and wish you well for the future in your chosen work path, but especially your health.
Thanks, the diagnosis sounded worse than the actual condition. I was already due to have my thyroid removed(overactive) so it just bought that forward. That was the end of the cancer scare, it was all removed and didn’t need radiotherapy etc so all was good.

It's funny when they moved Forge Lane things went out of prospective, especially when they moved the Park Inn. I defo remember the fireworks . Took in the sites off the no 53 on the way to Belle Vue.
the old Forge Lane bridge over the canal is obviously still there - that's the key for me - BYW I have no recollection of going anywhere over that way before mid 70's I think when I went to see a relative up Oldham Road somewhere

Am I right that there is only one more roof truss on site?

Might not see more go up for a bit after that next one considering it takes a period of time to prepare the trusses once they arrived on site.

Hopefully they will crack one this week as they will have 4 more days of very good weather.
