Didnt realise SSSkies had been today as well , so probably similar footage, but did get a real close up look

With City publicising the 84569 attendance v Stoke on the OS it got me a bit giddy. Maybe one day we will see the Etihad ‘finished off’ and the ES & CBS expanded to join up with the two ends. I really do hope so and it would make our stadium truly iconic and a fitting tribute to the club, its owners and us, the fans.
Imagine an Etihad crowd of 84570 v Stoke in the FA Cup Q Final in the year 2034..

The drafts and CGIs exist, with a target capacity of 85000 ++

Plans also exist for a completely new Stadium.

In the recent cgi’s the supporting trusses are a lot finer than those over Victoria Stn in jrb’s post , how the hell do they clean / maintain it ? Or will the final structure be more like the Victoria one ?

I would expect the actual structure to be chunkier than the CGIs suggest. And the roof muckier.

Dad was in that crowd he said there thousand more who climb the wall and weren’t counted must have been 100k according to him said you couldn’t move just had to go with the sway of the mass

My grandfather, father & his four brothers were there.

They went on to the Kippax St stand together and didn't see each other again until they got back to Denton.

My father said the crowd was moving him 50/60 ft as it swayed.

I was outside of KIPPAX and only got in after the second.Couldn't get your hands up in the corner it was so rammed.Great days.

Enjoyed the ground floor coverage in today's video. Really gave the whole project a brand new prospective. Great work CP

I remember having a chat with one of my uncles, who attended the match that day with his elder brother, my father.

He said It was common practice in those days to squeeze two boys through the turnstiles for the price of one, which they duly did on that day, and after waiting for the crowd to disperse after the game had finished to meet their father outside, was struck by the amount of blood he saw while walking up the terracing to leave the old popular side, which became the Kippax in later years.

There were probably more people in the ground than the official attendance states, but not a comfortable experience for many.

Have a watch of the “Vector-Folitec” info posted by Jrb . It looks amazing and they claim they can include
a noise reducing layer and it’s self cleansing ! I’d treat the self cleansing bit with a pinch of salt ;-(

I asked about the missing terracing. Guess what. I've forgotten exactly what Carl said. :-( So I don't want to make it up. There is specific work going on under those two corner sections,
that means the two corner sections of terracing can't be finished off yet.

Could it be to do with the two enclosed ( white plastic wrapped ?) structures they formed early doors that at directly in front of the open terrace on both sides , visible from the pitch side ? I seem to remember a comment somewhere that it was connected with electrics hence the waterproofing ??
