I am one of those oddballs who love them so much I actually think WFTSC and MC are very good records. But there’s no getting around that Hooky’s bass was a huge differentiator in their sound and a major part of my attraction to their music.New order. Once hook had left that was it. As much as he is coming across as a bit of pineapple these days the bloke was a great bass guitarist and had that stage presence.
Really? Their best tunes emerged after he left.Fleetwood Mac after Peter Green left

I agree 100%.However, can't take to Trujillo. It's like he's always trying too hard.
Absolutely @Two Gun Bob.Yes without Anderson. Impossible to reconcile.
Van Halen are arguably my favourite band, Van Hagar wouldn't make my top 10. I think the problem was Hagar made them a band that their fans dads would like (polished, no edge, grit or rawness) ....whilst rock music was moving the other way ie Guns n Roses, Metallica, Thrash, and grunge. Def Leppard went the same way after Hysteria (although imo, Hgh & Dry was their peak). All of them are wrong. Anyone who wants that was never a fan, never saw them live in a stadium or early on in a club, doesn't appreciate Dave's sense of humo(u)r, doesn't understand what a tool Eddie could be, or knew much about what a schlub Sammy was, whether in Montrose or solo. Don't get me wrong -- his steakhouse was pretty good.
"Right Now" was pretty alright, TBF.
I much prefer Gabriel Genesis, and solo......however my fav album of theirs is 'A Trick of The Tail' ?? ....nosedived after that for me.I thought Genesis was better without Gabriel save for Lamb, and I really liked PG’s first four solo records and even So. That said, Genesis became a pop band vs a “prog” band and I prefer pop to prog, but always thought they were hit or miss on both accounts. Brits often wildly overrate them IMO.
Never even thought of PF as a band without Waters.

Then you could discount lots of 'original members' from bands, who were replaced before releasing anything.I think you’re missing my point. Fish himself replaced the original singer, and co-founder, of the band so he can’t be an original member.
Ultravox after John Foxx left.
I'd agree with that, although it's hard to separate the influence of a new band member coming in, with the evolution (?) of Metallica's writing. Certainly to me nothing matches up to any of the first five albums.Big shoes to fill after the sad loss of Cliff Burton, and Newsted did it very well.
However, can't take to Trujillo. It's like he's always trying too hard.
I thought they got better when Mick Joined.Rolling Stones.
Mick Taylor was a top class guitarist but they lost a load of creativity when Brian left/was fired/was murdered.
Very good.....S Club 6
I totally agree with you, I much preferred Collins fronting them.I thought Genesis was better without Gabriel save for Lamb, and I really liked PG’s first four solo records and even So.
