PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This forum represents Manchester City fans. No person speaks for all but over the years some reasoned, thoughtful people have come to the fore such as Gary James, Prestwich Blue, slbsn, half-century etc. They are experts in the history of Manchester City, accounting, the practise of law, or are just intelligent people who can apply their minds to problems.

City are under an existential threat but that doesn't mean you drop your standards of behaviour and respect for others. I hope City fans try and emulate the above-mentioned and comment in their style. slbsn wins arguments with his knowledge and intellect. Abusive comment is easy but useless.

The competitiveness of English football is folly, and Manchester City have upset the applecart. Between them, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal, have won the league title 52 times. It is no wonder that they are desperate to besmirch the interloper and to curtail the progress of any team who presents a risk to their cash cow, a never-ending stream of sporting dominance creating a financial supremacy that maintains the status quo forever. The constant shifting of financial rules, and the influence of some clubs on senior appointments at the head of the game, show the Machiavellian attempts to stop us at all costs. That it comes with the support of the media only emphasises how keen all sides are to protect those who generate the money and keep things as they were. These are pivotal times, for us and others, and only winning this case, finally, will put things to bed. The future is very rosy, and the slings and arrows of yesterday's men will be gone as their quivers run dry.
They are also prepared to risk the whole edifice collapsing rather than allow and embrace a new member into the elite.

We bear Norwich (I think, it was) 5-0 once.
Jamie Jackson mentioned Manchester United no less than four times in his opening three paragraphs and once more, two paragraphs out from the end.
He failed to describe City's fourth and fifth goals, saying only, something about them completing a rout.
It wasn't a very long report by any stretch. (Maybe 1000 words, tops?). Yet, he ignored the two teams who played and banged on about another.
I was never inclined to take the prick seriously after that.
You need to call him ‘JJ’.

I agree with every word, what is frustrating though, is that the media and particularly social media, do not hold themselves to the same standards. Morons like Carragher and Sherwood, influencers etc throw around vague accusations and it is gleefully accepted as gospel.

I am not suggesting that our high profile supporters change their approach. I appreciate them representing us in a dignified, knowledgeable manner. It's just frustrating seeing what they're up against.

Yeah but can we all still agree that Jamie Jackson is a ****?

I've flipped flopped in terms of my postivity/negativity around the hearing over the past few months.

Have flipped back to the negative side this week after realising that despite all the ITK talk that we're going to be cleared, no one really knows or has heard anything from within the club.

Also, we were told that an early verdict would be good for us, the longer this drags the more negative i'm getting.

How the fuck has Spacers missed the cut on this list? More upset than when I missed out on the MuEN Picture Editors job in 2010 (nothing for second in this world) Had to do another 7 years for Trinity Mirror/Reach in fart face Cambridge, before hanging up my Leica :-)

I thought that in civil cases there is time limitation on fraud or concealment?

Six years from the date of "disclosure" in the case of fraud or concealment, I think. So from 2018. The allegations were referred in 2023, so not time limited if fraud or concealment is involved.

Unless I am wrong, of course ....
