Florian Wirtz

if wirtz is not coming then I think we should go after palmer. Not sure he will come either.
I am not sure who will come as a debruyne successor.
May be we will have to compromise debruyne with a 35 years old debruyne himself.

I’d love to get palmer back, never wanted him to leave. Home grown too, win /win

letting Morgan rogers leave for a pittance is proving a bigger error, but nobody begs us to re-sign him
It wasn`t an error as he was bang average in the academy. He needed a move to restart things. If he had stayed at City he`d still be on loan in the Championship and hardly anyone would know he was still on City`s books

He’s admitted that himself, but he’s turned out to be a quality player, so who knows if hed’ve made it here pal? hindsight’s a wonderful thing :)

Even got the sense Boro were a bit surprised that Villa wanted him.

I'd more credit Villa for that one, don't think it was an obvious mistake on our part.

He’s a rag, will never come back here
He said he’d get a jam sandwich in a meal deal. Kids a idiot, an incredibly talented footballing idiot.

He’d come back but depends on if Pep can accept his mistake. (Just blame Txiki)

Also he was a rag as a kid and they’ve done fuck all since. Wouldn’t surprise me if he genuinely considers himself a City fan above them now. Also being a footballer means this all goes out the window really.

Palmer wanted a guarantee of football. Even Erling Haaland doesn't get a guarantee of football. It wasnt "a mistake". It was a natural parting of ways that benefitted both.

Absolutely. Because he gets bought up in every thread here I often say he wouldn’t have developed into the player he is now without that move.

I do think now he’d certainly command more importance now.

You can talk as much as you like. Some people will never stop banging on about Palmer leaving and they'll still be at it when they've got zimmer frames.
Incredible on here, we gave away Palmer now he is the worlds greatest talent, Bobb is Maradona's son and Grealish just needs more time, FFS

These people should be asking for a job as a pundit on Sky.

Issue for me is not we sold Palmer - 45m is good money for him at that stage. Issue for me was we replaced him with Doku. Someone - TB? - had the view Doku has richer potential than Palmer. Something has gone very wrong.

Palmer and Doku don’t play the same position neither are they the same players.
Foden - KDB - Palmer too similar in some aspect especially without the ball

Totally different types of player. I take it you're not excited when Doku skins the full back time after time? At pace, something we desperately needed.
Doku signing meant CP's chances would be further restricted given they both played in the wide positions. Im not that excited as the end product has never been there nor does it look like it ever will be. I am not sure how anyone felt JD had a higher ceiling than CP.
