Sorry @Manchester33 I’m second tier of East stand & we have quite a few singers round us but I couldn’t hear the megaphone. I like the idea though.
The loudest singing was the Bobb song which was brilliant
No problem. Thanks for the feedback (I'd prefer honest critiques so we can improve on things the next time).

I could have done more with the megaphone - but felt like a complete knob head with it haha. We would start a song like Bluemoon, then use the megaphone the second time it was repeated after a couple hundred people had joined in already. We were conscious that we didn't want to be seen as leading the atmosphere and starting the chants with the megaphone. I was half expecting to come on bluemoon this morning and see a load of posts like 'what **** was using a megaphone'. :')

We might try it again, and try using it in a different way in the next game.

It's a good job you didn't let this **** use it mate ;)

I was stood in the 1894 section and didn’t notice the megaphone being used.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope you both enjoyed the game from CBL3 and hope he's doing well.

It was a good laugh in the 1894 block. One of those things where we sang tons of different songs, constantly. If the wider fanbase doesn't join in, there's not much more we can do. You can lead a horse to water.

Were you aware of the megaphone being used at all? We didn't want it to stand out too much, so we used it subtly and infrequently. It seemed like the odd time we did use it, it ramped up the noise. But you can never really tell when you're sat in the middle of it.
No, I wasn't aware of the megaphone at all. You could be heard pretty clearly from the Colin Bell but it looked like you couldn't be heard from the two lower tier singing areas. You definitely couldn't have done any more.

Have Palace sold their full allocation? Is there any chance of us having the top tier again? If so 18-25 section and a bigger 1894 area would be good.

I've said no to the section for Palace - we are going to organise one for the semi-final, so it's a mixture of me being mad busy with work/family/general life + wanting to ensure we push focus on the block for Wembley instead. Having a block for Palace, then for Wembley might confuse things a bit.

To add some context, I reckon I spent about 10 hours organising that block last night. That's not a sob story or me begging for kudos from people (I'm happy to do it and had a great time at the match) - it's just to give an idea of the work involved. I'd love to organise them more frequently, but there aren't enough hours in the day.

Decided to leave my hat and scarf at home. Walking to the ground last night i was bloody roasting . By full time i was like a block of ice
Beautiful at 7pm arctic at 9:35pm, I was dressed for the later so was overheating before the game but nice and toasty afterwards.

Definitely use it - I think it's a great idea. I guarantee it will be copied by several other clubs :-)

I don't know who it was who started the Oscar Bobb chant before he even entered the field of play.

But let me tell you that was a thing of beauty and truly got me out of my seat.

Always liked Palace probably 3rd behind West Ham and Sunderland as a good fan base with us. Always enjoyed trips to Croydon and a few sherberts round Thornton Heath in pubs with both sets of fans. Would love us to play them in the final, if we don't win the cup hope they do.

Thought the atmosphere was good natured especially considering the game didn't help. The Oscar Bobb chant was particularly good. Up in 304 people only really make noise when something is going wrong so needs some injustice to get us riled up normally.

It was nice to hear some proper city classics In ss3.

I don’t understand why we’ve stopped singing things like hey Jude or CTID. We’ve got loads of great chants that most of the crowd would join in with, but for some reason we’ve just don’t sing them.

The stand up if you love city / for the champions one went down well and got a lot involved in SS3. We’re not really here too.

I’d focus on songs like that if you want people involved. Singing about Dzeko etc isn’t likely to spread much.

I really like the Dzeko song it's part of our history like the Sergio champions one & the rarely heard we went to Rotherham one.

Yeah we tried to get 'more' classics and anthems going on Weds. It's good that songs like the ones you mentioned got more people involved.

There is a lot of time to sing a lot of different songs though. It's all about timing.

I reckon if we start off with songs like Bluemoon (which we did as fans took to their seats on the 10th min the other day), that gets the crowd going. Then you can alternate between away day/longer songs and classics because the tone has been set.

A few posters have rightfully pointed out that it doesn't engage the wider fanbase if we sing longer clappy songs from the off for 15 minutes. The rest of the ground is tuned out by that point and don't engage as well.

There are literally hundreds of different people all trying to start off their own songs, so it's hard to properly orchestrated what takes off and what doesn't. The solution to that is to go full blown Ultra knob head and have someone stood at the front dictating what we sing... not something I'd particularly enjoy seeing at City.

The biggest chant "noise" was about Vardy's wife, rightly or wrongly that's what I heard with my own ears.

We are finding it very very hard to get behind sanitised chants it appears.
