People here have been mocking that United team and Amorim for months but Pep has only managed to take one point against that lot this season. There are no excuses for that.

Ok then.
Not one of you slagging pep off have took the following things into consideration.

Out of form.
Injuries.
Old players.
Young players.
New signings bedding in.
Team has had a drop off in form and intensity.
Team has ran out of gas after being at it tor the past 4 years which included a treble and 4 in a row and players playing 60 plus games a season.

Nothing last forever. The team is at the end of its cycle. The team and the club will be in transition with Txiki and players leaving.

Everyone has gone in two footed on Pep.
Not his fault, it's almost gone full circle to the first day he walked through the door where the squad was the same as it is today.
Needs a rebuild.

Quite simple really.

The buck stops with Pep. £20m+ a year, a huge backroom team, near unlimited funds, and he turns out a pile of shite like today.

There comes a time in every job where you say thank you and goodbye. Some people on here need to accept that Pep has started to edge closer to the door a bit quicker this season.

Personally, I don't think he should be involved in rebuilding the squad after this season, nor should Txiki Begiristain.

Who would you replace him with?
Xabi. And as a way to get wirtz.

And it’s understood that this cycle would end and a season like this would occur. Fair enough. But to not get champions league is not good enough at all. It’s going to have a huge impact on recruitment and financials.

Ha ha you'll catch a few with that last line about Txiki.

I nearly got clarkied then.

I would guess he's going to Madrid

Nagelsmann

I’ve been quite critical of Pep this season and think he’s made a lot of mistakes. I don’t think he’s given some of the younger players a fair chance, he’s not given the likes of Grealish a fair run after good performances and a more pragmatic counter attacking approach at times might have got more from Savinho, Doku and Foden etc.

That said, his approach has brought unrivalled success to us over the past decade and we were more than due an off season. Injuries and fatigue does go some way to explaining the drop off and I can understand why Pep has no intention of abandoning his principles.

It would be utter madness to get rid of the greatest manager in our history, with the best record of sustained success on the back of this season. He’s extracted the absolute maximum from the likes of KDB, Gundo, Bernardo and Walker and that engine room needs replacing.

There’s no better manager in world football better suited to our upcoming rebuild and it’s crazy that some fans cannot see this.

Most of the points you mentioned - Pep is the cause of.
I don't agree Pep is the cause but I absolutely think he could have made better choices with regards to team selection and tactics.

Collectively we have been poor and I suppose the leader will always take both barrels but again, I don't personally think he has caused most of the issues.

I'd part ways, I said this season when he leaves it to the last minute to sign a contract that whilst I wouldn't jump for joy at him leaving, I would certainly welcome a change, sometime it is needed. Liverpool being a good example. He is a legend, we won't win the same amount again with anyone else but sometimes a managers cycle comes to an end and he has show all season he cannot adapt.

Yet he will rightly get all of the plaudits during out successes. If he is the main man behind our success (which he is) then he is absolutely the main man behind our failures too

He’s committed to 2 his contract runs until end of 26/27
Has he though? An alternative take is he gave himself the option to stay two years, depending on the lie of the land, and did the club a favour by averting a lot of the speculation that occurs when a manager is in his last 12 months.

Strictly speaking, it’s only the second year that’s an option, but there’s nothing to stop a manager leaving at any stage by mutual consent.

He’s a man of honour, IMO, and so are the club’s top brass. If either party should come to the view in summer, for argument’s sake, that he’s had enough or can’t turn things round, I’m confident there will be an amicable parting of the ways together with a generous settlement. The best possible spin will be put on it in public; most likely “personal reasons”.

This scenario wouldn’t surprise me at all as he is clearly floundering in uncharted waters. Genuine signs of a turn-round before the end of the season could change that though.

This flexibility is what his fantastic record has earned. Not eternal blind loyalty but mutual respect and frankness behind the scenes.

This is what I think will happen
