Florian Wirtz

I know its from an aggregator account but its also from David Ornstein who I belieev is pretty reliable.

We have heard Bayern are favourites but maybe the price will put them off. We also know Leverkusen dont want to sell to Bayerm (though the power ultimately is in the hands of the player - mostly). If Leverkusen refused to drop their demands I wonder if Wirtz would sit it out to the nd of his contract to get the move?

Not a chance to Leverkusen allow him to sit out his contract.

They have offered him a new contract. If he doesn't sign it he will be sold.

Leverkusen might have no choice if wants Bayern only and doesn't want to resign. He only has 2 years left.

That would be 129 million Sterling...I suppose that is reasonable ....at the very least that number doesn't sound insane.

If the club want to sell but the player doesnt want to leave - who holds the cards.???

..surely its the player as he has a contract....he literally could just sit there and say play me or dont thats your choice but I want the move to team X and I wont sign for club Y and I wont sign a new contract....?????

I think we need to be realistic here and do the basics better.
It was clear that Bellingham wanted Madrid. Clear that Rice wanted to stay in London. All but the most optimistic think Wirtz wants to join us. He is very likely to end up at Munich.
I really like the player and think he would be brilliant with us but it seems unlikely. That said I didn’t think we’d sign Haaland, though we paid a Kings ransom in wages and there was a release clause.
I really think we should concentrate elsewhere. World class players are out there under the radar. Nobody wanted to take a chance on D Silva (for me our greatest ever player).
This is what a DoF does. Fingers crossed, but I don’t think Wirtz is who we should be spending time on…

While I agree on all of that except if we have a chance at Wirtz then we have to go for it. However we must have. a very decent back up option and that is not Gibbs White! - unless we are happy with our current finishing position. And yes I don know forest are above us but GW plays in a completely different system than ours and we have seen what happens when we bring in players where the system is totally alien to them

I agree with your comments about MGW, although I like him. He isn’t the same type of player as Wirtz.
My point re Wirtz is I don’t think we have a realistic chance to sign him, hence we should focus elsewhere. I would hate to piss the window away on a player who is never coming..

Would take Olise in a heartbeat if Bayern win this race and want to recuperate some funds

City just have to do whatever they can to get him in. He's the outstanding option on the market and perfect for how we play. It's expensive, but we have the finances, especially when you factor in De Bruyne's wages that will be heading out the door.

With him only having 2 year left on his deal and if he wants Bayern and won't sign a new deal, he will be sold to Bayern.

Leverkusen will only get maximum money this summer if he doesn't renew so it's virtually now or never for them.

They won't turn down £100m + when he will only be worth half that next year with 1 year left.

By all accounts in Germany, Leverkusen want the City deal. The player is still undecided though.
