Liam Delap

Personally, it makes complete sense why City would want him back.

He is English and homegrown.

He retains the Haaland target striker approach, currently, we are adapting to a false 9, and I dont think thats good long term for the team.

Thats a hella cheap price for somebody almost guaranteed to be Englands future striker.

Now for Delap, he will have a pick of many options, so I can see him turning us down with already having Haaland.

But if we can convince him, its a great buy for us.

Pointless signing for him...why would he come to sit on the bench the majority of time. Can't play with Haaland unless pep is going old school 442

As long as Erling Haaland is at City, Liam Delap would be twiddling his thumbs on the bench, whereas he'd be a guaranteed starter for any other team in the PL.

He'd be bloody daft to come back to City.

Agreed but can you honestly see Haaland honouring anywhere near the length of this contract? Pep staying as our manager may well have a huge say in if he stays ( Haaland)

Also Haaland misses games through injury and has played far too many games this season, if I was Delap I would never consider it but he strikes me as a player who has total belief in hos abilities and would not be scared to compete with Haaland.

Depends on whether a team is willing to pay what it would to get Haaland out of a 9 year contract doesnt it...even if Pep is only here one more year thats still 8 years Haaland has lefton his contract......Anyone paying that much for one of the best strikers in the world with8 yrs left on his contract....I seriously doubt it....plus his wages!

Delap is a absolutely pointless signing and I cant see the club being remotely interested in him unless they have completely lost their minds

this smacks of closing the door after the horse has bolted and fans wishful thinking

Haaland will have a release clause in that contract 100% certain of that.

I disagree on the pointless signing, we need back up for the Viking, Marmoush is not a striker for me, more a 10 or a player that plays off a no9.

IF Delap wants to come back, for 30m it's a no brainer even if we move him on in another 12 months we would make a big profit.

we do need a back up I agree

Delap would be crazy to come in as a back up when he can go play for a vareity of prem teams as their first choice striker..

Also agree on Marmoush - puzzling signing at present...decent player but not ure how he fits in long term

We need a player who can play that false 9/variety of positions across the front line...they are rare who could play with Haaland and instead of him if he needed

It makes good sense as a signing, marmoush will get goals but isnt a striker, i think he will be part of the front line that replaces kev

Think thats what Marmoush was signed for, how well it turns out we'll see next year, but looks promising to me.Also depends who we buy for the 10 to replace Kevin.May well be a player also capable of playing false 9.
Another 9 though is the least likely of all the options.

I've said it so many times on here; Haaland will be off as soon as Real Madrid approach him with a definite offer.

He's not going to hang around at City any longer than he needs to, and I don't think that's far away. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he first out of the door in June if we don't qualify for the CL to be honest.

That's why we need Liam Delap.

We should sign him give him a six year contract tell him we playing two strikers most of the time and we play around 60+ games a season so he will play lots also not playing 60 games season will prolong his career!

Clubs tell fibs to a lot of players to get them signed up look at Kane and lying Levy to get him to sign a long contract promised him if a certain amount of of money was offered! Levy never even picked the phone up!

I cant see Delap coming back here. He is at the point in his career where he will want to play every week now and we can't offer him (or anyone) that with Haaland. Marmoush has been signed to be a back up to Haaland, but he can also play other forward positions or in behind Haaland so he will get the minutes he needs.

Homegrown
Will score at least 15 goals from the bench over the season
We've got first refusal on a cheap deal (in this market)
Already knows the club
Similar profile to Haaland

Makes too much sense.

Marmoush looks very good at present BUT I dont think he can play as a central striker at present (that could be representative of the how poe our midfield is at present as well however)...he looks more like a second striker...someone who can play alongside Haaland - but he doesn look like a centre forward...he looks morelike a wider player who can drift in centrally....How did he play when in Germany
