Liam Delap

you mean the madrid that got tonked by arsenal midweek, the home of the egos, i get the history of madrid and galacticos etc etc but not everyone madrid wants up at madrid, wasnt sergio supposed to be going there the whole time he was at city and he retired here. You may be blinded by the hype that Madrid create but not everyone is as enthralled with them as you are.

But well done on your continuing belief that city are some micky mouse team that big players are doing a favour for by playing for them.
he wants city to act like a big club when he doesn't deep down think we are a big club

Do you honestly think (taking off your blue tinted glasses for a minute) that City are a more attractive option than Real Madrid?

If we miss out on the CL, that 10 year contract will probsbly be straight of the window.

He could have a thousand year contract at City, and I'd still be convinced that he'll end up at Real. They want the best, and the best want to play there.

Enjoy him while we can.
the thing about a contract is however they will have to pay us huge amounts...its 9 years long - to buy him out of that is going to take a transfer fee that shatters all others....

You have said you think there is a buy out clause - no one knows that at all....its possible but not definite...but again even if there is looking at what others teams set their buy out clauses for it wouldnt be too hard to presume that if there was one it would be astronomical....and sometimes buy out clauses are triggured only at certain points in contracts as well as certain events like not getting CL - but I cant imagine it would be one year out of it.
Maybe he does end up at Madrid...but not till we have had his best years out of him....

The only thing that changes this I think is if we get relegated due to the 115 charges

I've said it so many times on here; Haaland will be off as soon as Real Madrid approach him with a definite offer.

He's not going to hang around at City any longer than he needs to, and I don't think that's far away. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he first out of the door in June if we don't qualify for the CL to be honest.

That's why we need Liam Delap.

He had a definite offer from Real Madrid when he was at dortmund and he told them to fuck off and signed for City, then signed a 10 year deal about 4 months ago.

if he was desperate for madrid and madrid was desperate for him then they would of got him to run down his contract same way they did with trent and mbappe that's how madrid do these type of deals now

I don’t disagree with your overall premise, of the desire for lots of top players to move to Madrid.

However in Erlings case it is a bit different:

1) Madrid are currently stacked in offensive positions and I’m not sure Mbappe will want to be displaced to accommodate him.

2) Erling has significant ties to the club, born in the UK and speaks the language fluently.

3) Reluctance of City to sell, and the required fee, based on the length of his contract

4) Erlings clearly likes being here/at the club or he would not have signed such a long contract limiting his options.

He might leave but I don’t think it’s just around the corner.

sergio stayed with us when we didn't win the league for 3 years you lot worry to much you want us to act like a big club but i don't believe for a second you actually think we are a big club the way some of you talk
I just listen to what Haaland and his dad have said from day one at the start of his career.

He will play in Spain at some point in his career, either Barca or Madrid.

And to be fair to the big fella if we don't change the way we play and quickly I would have no issue if he did want out, we have the best finisher in the world yet create next to nothing for him

He will never play for Barcelona. He doesn’t suit their play style 1 bit and Real Madrid has Mbappe.

If Mbappe does not start performing he will be sold, there's no sentiment at Madrid and I don't understand your comment re Barca, would he not be a huge upgrade on Lewandowski and with Yamal and Raphinha he would thrive.

At the end of the day we have to get our mojo back, it's going to be a huge, expensive rebuild and for me will take longer than one window to compete at the top level again.

that was before he signed for city why would you sign 9 1/2 year contract and let's not forget he signed in the middle of this season when we was much worse i don't think he stays for the whole length of the contract and i would agree with you about not creating enough for him but haaland has also not performed as well as in previous years he's missed some big chances and 3 pens this season as well

I would agree apart from early season he's been poor, as a footballer I think he is average but is goalscoring is incredible.

Like ALL contracts in football, I take them with a pinch of salt, they are meaningless and you and me have no idea on the numerous clauses in that contract of his.

yeah i agree but for him to sign a 9 1/2 year deal in are worst season doesn't scream i want out of this football club like a few of you are trying to make out look at some of the best players staying at clubs even if there not winning because they love the club i think a few on here buy into what rival fans say about players only come here for the money

We are one if not the finest clubs in football at looking after it's players and their family's, that's not in doubt.

But if we don't get back to previous levels , Haaland will be off, one year out of the CL maybe but any longer not a chance he hangs about.

If we miss out on CL this season and it's a huge possibility, it will hit us very, very hard in the summer attracting elite players.

Do you think Wirtz would consider a move here without CL?

Mbappe is literally scoring the whole time? How is Mbappe not performing? Also the difference between Lewandowski and Haaland is that Lewandowski is far superior on the ball. They already had problems with zlatan and he was on another level with the ball compared to Haaland too . Don’t see Haaland going to any of these 2 clubs

Mbappe is scoring but he causes trouble on and off the pitch, he pisses teammates off

i agree with you i don't think there's a club that does what we do to look after players and it may be a struggle but it was only 2 season ago that liverpool failed to get champions league and that midfield that's winning the league now was bought when they didn't have champions league football

they knew all this before signing him i speak to a madrid fan and perez loves him and wanted him for years

To summarise:

Makes sense for us because he's cheap, homegrown and we can sell him on again.

Doesn't make as much sense for him because he'd be sat on the bench most of the time, but he'd potentially win a few trophies.

To be honest, if I was him I'd maybe give it a season. He'd still get a good move at the end of it if he wanted out.
