Gigs Thread

Anyone going to Massive Attack at Coop in June? I thought it was an odd venue for them.... but I'm in
I bought a ticket, first time, I have seen them. So looking forward to it.
Just got back from John Cooper Clarke, good night, only fitted out for about a third of the venue but plenty of bars open, sadly £9 a pint.
One downer was a bloke, was having CPR administered at the top of the stairs, of the tram back into Manchester....

Saw BCNR at Stockport Plaza. A little odd watching a band whilst being seated and I wonder what the band thought of it. Still a nice no thrills show - no lasers or video wall. Just a good band playing interesting music. Best song of the night featured 5 recorders

saw Sex Pistols to a full house in Adelaide sunday night, brilliant show, Frank Carter was excellent, jumping in the crowd organising a bit of circle work around him. fun night and music was great.

Of to see Pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs tomorrow night at New Century, seen them a couple of times at small venues, looking forward to see them play a bigger room

Off to see The Lathums at the Apollo tonight.
Like all Friday nights out, it will be a sober one for me as I'll be Parkrunning tomorrow morning.
The advantages of this is that I'll remember the gig & not need to nip off for a wee every two seconds.
The downside is that everyone else in the crowd will seem twice as annoying!

He's got funny bones.
I wanted to get tickets to see him again but my Mrs said why see him again doing the same material.

Yep she's a miserable fucker :)
Where did you see him at?

He was in Ramsgate where I live that's the reason I'm not at today's game lol can't do a latish night and a 4am start.

Off to Detroit in the morning to see Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds for the nth time. I don’t think the latest album is all that great, but their stuff always comes across way better live anyway and the reviews and setlists for this tour so far are stellar, so should be a good night.

I checked ticket prices here and almost choked on my poutine.

You’re around Toronto right? They’ve always seemed to me to be way more popular in Canada than the US and play bigger venues that also sell out quickly. Take the quick trip to Motown! It’s not even sold out.
I just looked again and it was resales that I saw for close to a grand. A few tickets left at $200ea. Still too rich for me.

Rarely post on here, but I can recommend these two, seen them both in that London town!

The Last Laugh 29th July to 02nd August at The Opera House. Paul Hendy play portraying Eric Morecambe, Tommy Cooper and Bob Monkhouse. The three of them in a theater dressing room telling jokes and reminiscing about their careers. Nostalgic, poignant and funny all rolled into one. All good, but Simon Cartwright who played Monkhouse is 'spot on' and was the best of the three IMO.

Fawlty Towers. 04th November to 08th November at The Opera House. Very funny. Pieces together three classic episodes, (no spoilers). Characters very good indeed and include all the regulars and. Cleese had a say in putting this together. Go and see it!

The LL got 5 in The Metro, wouldn't have know about it TBH and there was plenty of publicity for FT's.

I also went to Only Fools and Horses musical when it came north, but that didn't 'hit the spot' for me, anyone else go?,

Also looks good Sunny Afternoon, (The Kinks) and Tina (Tina Turner musical).

Might get to one or both.
