- We went to Rotherham…
Mercury Rev tonight for me.
What did you think? It's Mercury Rev, for me on Friday night, at New Century Hall.
First time there... Are there any cheap Joseph Holt's nearby?
I am in total agreement... I was near the mixing desk and it was shite. What did you think?
I thought the acoustics of the hall were utter shite.
Hair n Hounds on Shuedhill, 5 mins walk away
you are being, he asked where he could get a cheap pint of holts, hairy is the cheapest in town and close to the venue he never used the word pub tbf ;-)Being pedantic, it's actually a Heineken/Star Pubs house, that sells Holt's ;-)
Funnily enough, inside the venue, I asked for a pint of their cheapest lager and a woman overheard me and laughed. She then congratulated me for my style!!!you are being, he asked where he could get a cheap pint of holts, hairy is the cheapest in town and close to the venue he never used the word pub tbf ;-)
It will also be bouncing after the NUFC League Cup win.Off to see The Mary Wallopers tonight at the Newcastle city hall. Should be some atmosphere given yesterday's result and it is St Patrick's day.
Thought I'd see if anyone else went to this.. Thought he was incredible. His albums are good but live he was next level.Michael Kiwanuka at the Apollo tonight. A long time since I’ve been there, anyone know what parking is like?
I’m thinking of driving part of the way and parking up somewhere on the 192 route but maybe it’s not necessary?
Fire up the Quattro! ; )Looks like Gene are about to reform for at least one live gig to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut album "Olympian".
I appreciate they weren't everyone's cup of tea, but they were definitely my "Britpop" band of choice in the 90s and early noughties.

Just about to post when I saw yours. I was there with my brother, these days only times we seem to meet up, apart from funerals...Just been to watch From the Jam at the Parr Hall in Warrington. Absolutely brilliant night. They played Setting Sons in full without Foxton for most of it and then he came on for the rest of the set. 3/4 full but the crowd were well up for it. It was a great night. Jam songs are so much better live.
If you get chance to see them on this tour, do it.
Playing The Ritz on the 24th May.
Yeah. What was all that about? Took a few stewards to sort that and he looked like he was swinging at them I was up there but on the other side. An old bloke collapsed near the end too. Busy night for the stewards.Just about to post when I saw yours. I was there with my brother, these days only times we seem to meet up, apart from funerals...
As always the band were awesome, wonderful tribute to Rick with that backdrop - shame they didn't play Funeral Pyre.
Played many of the singles and those album tracks that should have been singles.
Imagine if they did a gig just playing the 18 singles!! 9 of which didn't appear on any of the 6 studio albums, talk about value for money. Start with In The City finish with Beat Surrender.
Disappointed Bruce didn't play the whole concert, hopefully Bruce is getting 'match fit' for the rest of the tour.
As me and my brother said it seems like closure, hopefully the Ritz at the end of May sells out as he deserves a fitting send off.
Definitely going to The Ritz but might sneak in another one in the meantime
BTW did you see the fight on the balcony during tube station?
