Gigs Thread

The Mary Wallopers last night. Very poor gig. Sound quite muffled and you couldn't hear what they were saying between songs. Not helped at all by the amount of people who felt the need to talk all the way through. If you want a bit of craic go to the pub. When they did Wexford one very loud woman said "oh this my favourite " and then proceeded to tell everyone what she wanted for her birthday despite the amount of people telling her to shut up

Got Alanis Morrisette(sp?) in Lytham, Neil Young in Dublin and Oasis in New Jersey thus far - may be tempted into another couple as well at this rate.........

Went to see Spiritualized last night…30th anniversary of the Pure Phase album. Was really good…but to reiterate what was said earlier, especially for gigs like this I wish people would shut the f*ck up!!

Just been to watch From the Jam at the Parr Hall in Warrington. Absolutely brilliant night. They played Setting Sons in full without Foxton for most of it and then he came on for the rest of the set. 3/4 full but the crowd were well up for it. It was a great night. Jam songs are so much better live.

If you get chance to see them on this tour, do it.

Playing The Ritz on the 24th May.

Looks like Gene are about to reform for at least one live gig to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut album "Olympian".
I appreciate they weren't everyone's cup of tea, but they were definitely my "Britpop" band of choice in the 90s and early noughties.

Love this song!

Just about to post when I saw yours. I was there with my brother, these days only times we seem to meet up, apart from funerals...

As always the band were awesome, wonderful tribute to Rick with that backdrop - shame they didn't play Funeral Pyre.

Played many of the singles and those album tracks that should have been singles.

Imagine if they did a gig just playing the 18 singles!! 9 of which didn't appear on any of the 6 studio albums, talk about value for money. Start with In The City finish with Beat Surrender.

Disappointed Bruce didn't play the whole concert, hopefully Bruce is getting 'match fit' for the rest of the tour.

As me and my brother said it seems like closure, hopefully the Ritz at the end of May sells out as he deserves a fitting send off.

Definitely going to The Ritz but might sneak in another one in the meantime

BTW did you see the fight on the balcony during tube station?

Yeah. What was all that about? Took a few stewards to sort that and he looked like he was swinging at them I was up there but on the other side. An old bloke collapsed near the end too. Busy night for the stewards.
