If he stops playing Kovacic with Gundogan and De Bruyne and just play 2 of them at any time we will be fine.

That, and completely removing Rico Lewis from fullback all together.

As much as I hate Lewis's positioning, that goal was coming before the cross went in. No pressure on the ball carrier in the midfield and the whole backline was sluggish to shift to whoever put the ball in.
 
Might be unpopular these days, but the old man still got it.

Also, the 4-2-2-2 setup is probably the way to go until the end of the season. Until Haaland comes back, the wingers will have to learn to play strikers.

But he can get to fuck with the snide digs to the crowd. Does it a lot. Needs to realise we’re well within our rights to be frustrated in the heat of the moment of games.

Nobody (I hope/near me) boos the team and instead get frustrated at certain things. Which is fine. We pay our hard-earned money to do that.

We then don’t need our manager cupping his ear to us after a goal.

Just don't get the Rico love in at all.

When he maurauds forward he offers nothing. He never gets in on goal or ghosts past his winger or plays a killer pass. So why do it?

Just defend. Stay in the RB position and mark their winger. Simple.

I watched him closely today and if Palace were more shrewd with the ball on the turnover he would have been exploited numerous times.

He would not get in any top 10 European starting 11.
 
It's astounding to me that some fans have no patience with the manager who's delivered our treble, centurions, fourmidables and 4-in-a-row.

Has one bad season and they call for his head and join the media / opposition fans in pushing him out.

Utter madness.

I've questioned a few team selections and tactics but I don't see the players train or have one modicum of Pep's understanding of football - despite me trying to sound like I do at times...

Therefore, you'll never catch me saying he's lost it or saying it's time for him to go. He's the GOAT and it'll always be Pep IN as far as I'm concerned.

Really fucked me off as well. Despite all the success and memories he has given us I still don’t feel he “gets” us.

Spot on and Pep cupping his ears will be because fans behind him would be moaning shouting get him of or this player is shite we all know what it's like if you been going for decades!

Pep though has raised our expectations so so high that a team getting a chance or a goal now is like wtf that shouldn't be happing! Other teams can have a shot on our goal or score goals against us!
 
Did that formation today remind anyone of the football we used to see under Mancini? Solid base in midfield with two attacking midfields playing slightly wide behind two forwards. Peps always changed his formation up every 18 months or so and perhaps this his next go at it. Apart from Doku, I think our forward options are well suited to it.
