Anyone who slags. Pep off is a moron.
This man has produced the best football by any English team.
And also the best football by any team ever .
If that was city or barca is up for discussion.

Did that formation today remind anyone of the football we used to see under Mancini? Solid base in midfield with two attacking midfields playing slightly wide behind two forwards. Peps always changed his formation up every 18 months or so and perhaps this his next go at it. Apart from Doku, I think our forward options are well suited to it.

Pellegrini’s “magic rectangle” was our best version of that formation

How can you start Lewis at RB , against Eze FFS, I don't care what he does at RWB, the back post is always open.

I know it's a shit season but decisions are always questionable and if that Eze goal was a few inches the other way, no coming back from that.

We had 2 wingbacks both not up to it defensively with only 2 CB's and no Rodri, now is not the time to plan for next season

Having said that we would be mid-table if it wasn't for Pep

I’m a match day fan so am always in different seats whenever we go, not sure if that makes me the so called ‘tourist’. No actually, I doubt you’d ever get this from a day tripper you would probably get better support, he was a regular.

I didn't like the lineup but I'm not sure I agree - if you have yesterday's lineup and yesterday's effort levels then we would have probably done better. Against United we were passive, played for a draw, lost the majority of duels but United were there for the taking. That's what was so disappointing about it

Love Pep but his loyalty to some of these players is misguided. He needs to do the one thing he's never had to do in his career, a rebuild of his own team.

There’s only three players in the entire squad that were part of Pep’s first squad (De Bruyne, Gündoğan and Stones).

He’s already done a rebuild of his City team a few times while with us.

No, he built a team based around a core of players (including the three mentioned) but what he hasn't ever done is move a core group on and replace it with another.
Let's be clear I want Pep to stay for life. And he has replaced individual players, but he should never have bought Gundog back, Walker was not what he was even last season, Stones/KDB are too injury prone, and we've not had a left back (not a left CB) in years.

I agree, he's had his core players for so long and he still relies on them.
Unfortunately the injuries the squad faced this season mean't that some were played too much even when they were out of form. His loyalty and lack of total trust in the unknown affected some of his decisions and it cost us games.

I would bet he's looking forward to building a new team though and in adapting his tactics to how teams now play against us.
With the young players we already have in and around the squad i can't wait to see it develops.

It took the players 25 mins to work it out. We could have been 4 down by then, but had also hit the post and missed a one on one.

Could have been 10 today had we been clinical.

This os actually a misconception. We were dominant from minute 1.

In less than 50 seconds from the start we intricahad an attack in their box, but Maca overcooked the cross and it flew over NOR's head. 2 minutes later, NOR put a cross into the box that a stretching defender got to just ahead of Maca. Minute 4, Kova put Maca through on a 1 v 1 that he tried to lift over the keeper but messed up badly...

Palace had only one attack, a cross from Munoz to an offside Maleba that was partially blocked by NOR. Prior to their goal in the 7 minute, we had 80% possession, had more forays into their box 4 to 1 and had the only 1 v 1 opportunity by Maca.

Palace couldn't keep the ball in the first 6 minutes and luckily got out of our press playing out of the back to score their goal.

Contrary to to popular opinion, Palace scored against the run of play..After their first goal, they were slightly better in possession as they were much more organized. But we were still far better and created more chances, Omar Marmoush's 1 v 1, Kevin's rebound shot, being the only 2 chances in that period.

They sat back and tried to frustrate us while we dispossessed them at ease with pressure. Then in their only successful foray into our 3rd, they got a corner and scored their 2nd.


That we were playing poorly in the first 20-25 minutes, is mostly fantasy created by the commentary and the opportuned goals they scored.

We were better from start to finish bar a 8 minute spell after their second goal when it was closer to 50/50.. Other than that 7-8 minute period we were the better team.
