Hopefully you are right. I'm more of the opinion that they've just stumbled onto it this time. We'll see this summer if the ruthlessness is all encompassing.

I remember the first few times G. Jesus got on the field- looked like lightning in a bottle- prolly my favorite moment with him was the May 18' Soton game where he scored at the death to put us at 100 pts.

First few times Doku came on I thought he'd catch fire too.

Neither did. Maybe Doku will prove us wrong next season. So far Jesus is the far better signing and he didn't exactly live up to billing.

i dont think doku lacks self belief at all. I think he lacks passing and positional finesse to connect with his teammates. Hes an expert at skinning his defender he just passes to hard or just not quite in the right place most of the time. something he may improve on but really it should be more instinctual for him.

jacks partying didnt have anything to do with it. more that he cant dribble past defenders unless hes already at a full sprint. hes really stagnant when he gets the ball while stopped and an entire team is sitting in the box which is 90 percent of our games.

Can we not reimagine what Grealish did. As a point on our tactical map, he would draw defenders, encourage under/over laps, retain possession and win fouls. Him retaining possession allowed the team to move up the pitch. The way he has played this year hasn't differentiated from that.

Why would Bayern be dragging out the cavalry like Uli Hoeneß and Karl Heinz Rummenigge to convince him to join if they were so confident of grabbing his signature.

Why would Bayern be leaking to their mouthpiece of a newspaper, Bild, that we have offered in excess of €150m and £400k a week.

If it was all done and dusted to Bayern it would be all over and leaked to the German press.

We very much have a chance of signing him and it is of my opinion he is open to the move, but his dad, of whom is also his agent, thinks otherwise and want him to join the club the family supports.

I think Wirtz knows he can spend 5 years elsewhere, like City, and still go Bayern Munich aged 26/27.
 
Similar to Haaland we have such an obvious starting place in our first 11 for this lad.. But at the same time I'm sure he will want CL football..
 
But Madrid have an issue with where everyone will play. They may have to sell some serious players to accommodate another signing like this.

If this is true and we are above Bayern that’s huge.

This is the only time I’ve really seen Madrid mentioned and may be because Carlo is stepping down and everyone presumes Alonso gets the job. Which may not happen.

Clearly if he wants to go there though, he wont care? He'll be aware of who they have.

Quite easy. They are going to sell Rodrygo, both French CM and Arda Güler. They will still have the problem of not having an actual RW unless Diaz starts which won’t happen or that their 2 best offensive players occupy the same spaces. They won’t care about that. All for prestige and letting everyone know that they are THEM.

I honestly don't think the media has the foggiest clue what his preference list is at the moment. ESPN ran this story a few days ago and now Bild is reporting the same thing. We haven't heard anything from credible Madrid sources on them even being interested.

I fucking hate Real Madrid.

But I’m glad they bought Bellend.
