May be the homegrown quota rules have played a part.
But I am still thinking its a bad rumor. Who will take him in such high salary ? Surely He is not going to rags or dippers.
Plus why will he go?
And also tolmee has said he is going nowhere. Or has he changed ?

It’s not. Teams have always been more physical and quicker than us.

Teams have learned a system that allows them to negate us in a low block and then having success on the counter, so we need a Walker replacement in defence to cover our high line.

The lack of Rodri is a huge factor in that though. He screened our back 4 immensely, giving the other 5 attackers more freedom to attack without fear of the counter attack.

We still tend to batter anyone that comes up against us and uses a high defensive line, like Newcastle at home.

I’m not sure they have always been so, relative to us. liverpool certainly were on both counts, and it showed most times we played them.
The median level PL team is now quicker and more physical all over the pitch than they were 5 years ago. I’ll admit I’ve not researched stats on it, but that’s the way it looks to my eyes.
And our team have collectively aged/run out of steam/regressed, and if you combine that with Rodders out especially so this season.

Doesn't think his game is ready to play for us .
Says he needs more training & experience to play high level football for us.
Spanish outlet fichajes are stating it .

Hopefully it's the same bullsh1t as the shampoo story, Khus and Reis have to be part of the set up next season.

I’m not saying that it’s not a factor as Pep needed players that could “run” after his first season, but it’s not the prerequisite that other teams deem it to be.

I still think this is where the stories come from based on Tolms info. But we also have this Bernado merry go round every year so could just be lazy journalism.

If we are sniffing around Benfica players it’s entirely possible they’ve asked about Bernie and we may be open to it. Hence why they wouldn’t be paying his release clause. Wages may be a stumbling block but Bernie might go back to wages similar to his old contract to get a move.

Id love him to stay, this season is a blip for everyone not just Silva. He’s been run to the ground like many others.

If he was to go I’d be happy for him if he got a move that he’s wanted in recent years. Hopefully the deal would work well for all parties involved.

There is an annual end of season myth that Bernardo wants to leave City. Its gone on for years now. I always ask for someone to signpost me to anything that substantiates that myth and nobody has ever been able to do it.

Feels like Bobbs emergence before his injury is key here. Savinho, Doku and Grealish rotating out wide next season with him as well. Echeverri will need minutes likely on the flanks as well next season. Plus Nico and Nunes, Foden as well if Wirtz comes in the summer maybe?

Can't keep the pathways closed forever and the midfield looks crowded at the moment. If he goes I hope it is back to Portugal and we don't rip the piss with the fee, £12 mil max.
