Rumours Bernardo may leave | Still 1 year left on contract

He’s not been at his best this season but he’s only 30 so imo with fresh legs around him and using him sensibly, he’s good for another season or two.
Based on availability and the playing time this season, I was of the thinking that we would be more inclined to letting the likes of Stones or Ake go before Bernardo.
Bernardo has played a lot of football this season

I’m going to take a guess Kev is pissed at the club and leaking stuff. Sacha has got a lot of news about City recently. He’s a Belgian journalist who’s the number one journalist for the KDB cup. He’s done interviews with Kev about young Belgium talent. Kev always has him at the KDB cup to take questions and write articles about the tournament.

Kevs recent interviews he seems pissed not upset but angry and pissed off. It’s not beyond the idea that he’s leaking stuff to Sacha the same way. Laporte kept leaking stuff to Alvarez.
I'd be surprised if Kev was doing such.

Oh Please. Don't take a guess and accuse Kev from leaking stuff. Sasha Tavolieri said 3 or 4 weeks ago VVD wanted to go to the US together with Kev because they are friends. He is more often wrong than right. He does the KDB cup as independent reporter for RMC sports. btw he knows Doku and his family really well. Are you now going to accuse Doku from leaking. The guy is just guessing on his X account. I'm pretty sure Kev would never do that.

Surely Pep is the one to get rid of then, no?
I genuinely don't know the answer to that sometimes yes sometimes .no ,he has certainly ruined grealish and this season he seems to have stunted Foden to a degree also worth noting I don't think savinho is as direct as he was ,

I'd 100% keep Bernardo next season.

I think if the full backs were sorted, if fit centre halves were sorted, if energy in midfield was sorted and if a creative player with a proven link up with Haaland was sorted then maybe the optimum time to move on a club legend could be thought about.

But as everything is up in the air, I think the continuity Bernardo provides will be required next season.

I'd also point out that the 4 teams in the CL semi finals all play a possession based game so possession based football is still very much alive and kicking.

This sounds like absolute bollocks.
Ruined Grealish??
Stunted Foden…. ???
Horseshit. Made up crap with no credibility

I’ve said it in another thread, but we’re going to lose lots of world class players and more importantly proven winners with experience. They’re going to be very difficult to replace.

When players like silva, kompany and yaya left the replacements were unbelievable. I don’t think our signings since haaland have been anywhere near as good

Let’s be honest, Haaland is the only top category signing we’ve made in the last 5/6 seasons.

The answer is very clearly no ffs

I’m not saying that it’s not a factor as Pep needed players that could “run” after his first season, but it’s not the prerequisite that other teams deem it to be.

If it were only about physicality and pace, we’d all still be watching GPC football.
No, agreed, it’s for sure not just about those two attributes. But what I’m saying is, teams need a core of at least 8 or 9 out of 10 outfield players who possess those attributes today. I think to that extent it is now a prerequisite. Imho.
