You'd have thought they'd have phased out the parachute payments by now and told the clubs in the PL to put relegation clauses into all players contracts.

Clubs have probably done that as well and then use the money to help strengthen to go back up. Probably why so many yo-yo clubs right now.

They’re including the starting year (2020) and then adding 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 as 5 years, which is fine, unless you’re actually including 2019/2020 which, of course, they are……

Phase out parachute payments and it would be a near certainty that promoted teams would go straight back down. Continue with them and it hands a tremendous advantage to the 3 relegated teams to gain instant promotion.

I think it’s pretty certain that most clubs have relegation clauses when it comes to basic wages but players recruited almost certainly will be due a % of their signing on fee which will be paid Add to that players will carry a charge to amortisation irrespective so if the clubs didn’t have a level of insurance then the simply wouldn’t push the boat out as it were.

I was referring to the emails from Simon Pearce that suggested ADUG would fund Etihad's part of the commitment. I can't remember all of it. We are owned by ADUG.
