Rodrygo

If we’re talking stats then Robben only scored 11 in 50 la liga games for Madrid and he’d walk into any team we’ve ever had.
Who would you replace in our treble team for fuckin Robben?

Looking at his stats for Bayern they’re no better than Sterling for us. So either Sterling was massively underrated or you’re rating Robben too high. The truth is likely somewhere in between

Safe to say Robben would get in over Grealish.

The fact you’re comparing Sterling (a player I like) to Robben based off stats shows you’re not looking at it the right way.

Robben was a world class player and one of the best wide players of his generation.

Ps

Sterling was very under rated and had a top class goal scoring record. He was no where near as technically able as Robben though.

Seriously ?

I can see him at Liverpool on the left wing.

Can't see us going for him when we are clearly all in on Wirtz and MGW.
just seen those link this morning, be a decent spot for him. That LW is right up for grabs.

He generally seemed a big threat when we’ve played them..
6 in 30 games this season

Is that top level scoring?

He has had an inferior season this year but still has 13 goals and 11 assists this season in all competition despite not always being a regular. He had 18 goals and 9 assists last year.

Either way he is consistently getting close to 25-30 goal contributions a season. That is very good for a winger.

It's been about 2 years since most of the forum didn't want Raphinha from Leeds because he'd not played at the top level and didnt' score enough goals.

55 goals and assists this season in 51 games and might be 5 games away from a quadruple with 2 trophies already in the bag and having broken a bunch of CL records.

And favourite for the Ballon d’Or.

That’s not true at all. He shows up when it matters. Knocked us out, and scored vital goals in La liga title races to get the three points. He’s scores when it matters. We’ve been terrible against the top 6 this season to have a player that can do it in the vital games would be a huge improvement.

“In the current Premier League season, Manchester City has played 10 matches against the "big six" clubs (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Aston Villa). They have won 4, drawn 2, and lost 4 of those matches, with a record of 7 points picked up from a possible 24”

“Yes, Rodrygo is widely considered a big-game player, particularly within the context of Real Madrid and the Champions League. He consistently performs well in crucial matches, starting in important games and delivering crucial goals and assists”

  • Consistent Performances:
He frequently steps up in high-pressure situations, as evidenced by his goals in Champions League knockout stages and other major matches.

  • Versatility and Selflessness:
Rodrygo is known for his ability to play multiple positions and his willingness to sacrifice his position for the team's tactical needs, which is valuable in big games

  • Critical Goals and Assists:
He's contributed significantly to Real Madrid's success with important goals and assists in crucial games.
Not sure if I'm missing something but those figures make no sense to me.

You listed 6 clubs (so 12 games in total for home and away) but then state we have played 10 matches against them. What about the 2 missing matches?

You then state we have won 4, drawn 2 and lost 4 (not great but not terrible either) taking 7 points from a possible 24. Surely that should be 14 points from 30 if you're talking about 10 matches (still not sure about the missing 2 matches).

Grealish was integral to the way we played that treble season. Especially in the Champions League.

Did fuck all in his most recent set of CL games.
Aye but as we've shown this season, a dysfunctional team rarely lets individuals shine.

Personally, I think we maybe go for Rodrygo if Wirtz doesn't work out. I know not the same position, but we need some extra star quality for next season as well as building for the longer term.

Then we'd have Haaland plus three from Rodrygo, Marmoush, Doku, Savinho, Foden and Bobb.

There's a lot of energy and variety in there, plus room to improve.
