A lot of the people coming into the uk don’t have jobs though. They are often coming as dependants/ family members.
A huge number are coming to work in low paid jobs, such as Deliveroo drivers. Is that really what we need?
We have lots of talented workers in the tech sector- this deal completely undercuts anyone working in that field or trying to get into it. Yes we need immigration, but this deal doesn’t benefit our workforce.
Why would we not want low paid jobs filling? Odd comment. Anyone who comes over here to work is welcome in my book and if anything I take my hat off to those poor sods who slave for little pay being delivery drivers, cleaners, shop assistants etc.
I work in the tech and media sector. Already lots of work is outsourced abroad but it’s very rare, in my opinion, for foreign workers to move over and suddenly take someone’s job because they are willing to do it cheaper. The job sector doesn’t work like that in the mid to high level sectors. It might mean certain job sectors become more competitive and it’s harder to find future jobs but a competitive marketplace tends to make for better quality.
