Im sorry, is that really called for ? Surely the purpose of the forum is to discuss the potential impact of the changes as regards UK jobs and the wider economy.Who knew the fascists would misinterpret a paragraph of the trade deal with India and spread bullshit that Punjabi Patel gets a tax break over the poor impoverished gammon?
As to what I can see after reading what is available, there are 2 parts in relation to physical labour.
One which is a limited number of Indian nationals who for a period of up to 3 yrs will have their NI waived, these will still be subject to the visa rules and minimum salary requirements. There is a reciprocal agreement for British workers in India. Depending on who you believe there may be pressure to relax the visa rules in the future.
The second and more concerning part is around "assurances" regarding digital services in IT, telecoms, engineering, finance and similar. The details of this is unclear but considering the amount of offshoring of work on government contracts that already exists, if this is further expanded and I say if, it will damage the UK services sector.
