Holidays

Da Nang - My An beach area, not the most authentic Vietnamese vibe but a great place to stay with nice beach bars and a £1 Grab ride will get you to the older parts of town around Han market for your snide gear etc. Oddly, the locals call Han market the Korean market owing to the amount of em in there.
Hoi An is also a great place to stay / hang out although the town and beach are a bit disjointed - tbh the beach there isn’t as nice as My An.

Much appreciated

We stayed at the Pullman in My An ... fantastic beach.View attachment 155851
We used to get a grab scooter into town, one occasion hers got a flat so it ended up with three of us on one bike which to be honest is pretty much average there.
Thought Nha Trang had the best beach vibe/resort feel out of the places I had visited but might have changed due to the Russians.Just a normal beach resort then... got what you expected .
Stayed in Hoi Ann town so didnt see the beach, nice but a bit too touristy/ busy for us.

How was the Pullman?
Look at Mercure but not sure i can be arsed with having to get shuttle bus to beach and back every day

Yes went a few years ago. Lovely place but a pain in the arse to get there. Flight to Croatia, bus to Split harbour, pile on a boat with all your cases as the bus only takes you to the harbour and drops you off, about an hour on the boat across to brac then a bus to your hotel from there. Not sure if we were maybe unlucky with our transfers or the in-laws (who we went with and who paid for it) skimped on that side but it's not a journey I'd undertake with small kids, put it that way
Haha your really selling it to me mate

Hotel was great, couple of restaurants and bars round its location but not that much really .
Easy to get to town centre tho using grab for dragon bridge etc and close to marble mountains.
Not a great lover of heights so didnt do the Golden Bridge.
Pretty sure we just used a taxi to get to Hoi Ann

Won't be until next March so I will keep digging

Ha, to be fair once we were there it was lovely. Actually mentioned it to my missus after I saw your message originally and she said we were unlucky with the journey over. Our coach from the airport got stuck in traffic and arrived just as the ferry was pulling away from the dock. That meant we had an hour sitting in a cafe in the port waiting for the next one so that experience has probably always negatively coloured it for me.

Cheers for the tip, I shall put it in the expect the worst category, I'm usually cool with that kind of stuff as long as there's no scousers knocking about

Any suggestions for where to go with a 5 month old around late August to September? We usually head over to the US or Mexico but the longer flight is a bit daunting this time.

We're looking at Greece or Tenerife or maybe a villa somewhere as we'd love a pool we can just dip in and out of with the baby.

Italy? We go there a lot and usually rent a villa with a pool. So many beautiful cities, lovely countryside, good beaches, lovely food and wine. The flight isn't too long either.

The best country in the world for holidays IMHO.

Cheap Trick finally announce their two farewell dates in Japan. One in Osaka, and then back at the Budokan to say Sayonara ... a return holiday in Japan in September it is then :-)

Can I come? If I start on the Ozempic now I might just fit in your luggage.

My sis has just returned from there. Her sis in law has had an apartment there for decades. They love it ... mostly German tourists rather than Brits. Great location for getting out and about.
Can ask if you need anything specific.
Cheers mate, just booked to go in August. Been all over Majorca, our go to destination for summer holidays, but had never even heard of paguera. Heard it was mainly German but that’s not a problem. At least it’s not the French :-)

I’d still say a 3 and a half to four hour flight can be a bit stressful for them, you and everyone else on the plane ;)
Greece would still be very hot too.
I’d be looking slightly shorter haul, maybe Menorca, Majorca , Alicante, Malaga etc.
Certainly , Alicante and the surrounds will have plenty of villas available and should be competitively priced.
Head towards Costa Blanca and there’s miles of lovely flat promenade to push a buggy up and down to your hearts content.

Palma City
It's a fab place to stroll around heat allowing. Avoid the rip off restaurants near the cathedral but go baack a couple of streets and there's plenty of choice. A bus trip out to Marina Portals to see the "big boats". There's always lots to watch in the harbour in Palma and a nice beach just to the east of the city. If you have a car, try to get to Es Verger restaurant near Alaro.
