Gigs Thread

The James Pearson trio playing Oscar Peterson at Forsyths for the Manchester jazz festival last night was a good evening.

Sadly John Helliwell cancelled his gig at the RNCM on Saturday. I was looking forward to Supertramp reworked into jazz arrangements.

Ronnie Scott’s in London next week.

Roy Harper at the Bridgewater Hall in September.

From The Jam Ruts DC and a Clash tribute band at the Ritz Saturday
Iggy a week on Saturday at that place near the Swamp
It's just Ruts DC supporting tonight. Different gigs on the tour have different support. Shame, as London Calling are really good. Saw them a couple of months back at Band on the Wall - was really impressed (they are back on there in Jan).
Was also announced in kast couple of days that Bruce Foxton won't be playing tonight as is unwell. Shame as was meant to be his last gig.

Yeah I read about all this last night the ad isn't particularly clear that you only get two bands whichever you go to.

Went to Neighbourhood festival yesterday. Bit of a rainy one so not ideal. The big tent was rammed for the later acts as people trying to stay dry.

Dylan John Thomas was excellent.
Bluetones a blast from the past
Lottery Winners and K’s as good as they always are live.
Saw newish band Arkayla from Manchester. Decent. Playing Gorilla next month I think. £12.

I was there too on Saturday.
Dylan is always fantastic, saw him in Manchester in December, brilliant live.

Wedding Present tonight were fantastic. Played Bizarro in its entirety (it’s 35 years old, fucking hell) along with other assorted ‘hits’.
Only downside was David Gedge responding to a question from the crowd and saying he was a rag. Had a chat with him afterwards - he’s a decent bloke otherwise.
