Gigs Thread

Charlatans a week on Thursday can’t wait someone mentioned that Embrace and the Coral where on to , any ideas if true ?

After never having been to the Co-Op snce it opened, I've just done Lionel Richie a week last Thursday and then Pulp on Saturday.

I went from loving the co-op as a venue the first time, to the absolute clusterfuck of disney-style queuing and missing the first 10 mins of Pulp as it took 40+ mins to get it. Despite my ticket noting entrance D. I was made to queue and go in entrance F and the end of that queue started close to the Summerbee bar.

Weirdly for Lionel, my ticket said entrance F and I was made to go in Entrance D ?

However Pulp was a solid 10 out of 10, that Jarvis is some front-man.

Lionel was even better, just a solid 1hr 40 mins of absolute bangers and the crowd was at fever pitch before he even arrived on Stage, I sang, I laughed and I cried, possibly one of the top 5 gigs I've ever been to.

Think that is correct.

I’m taking my daughter to watch someone called Tate McRae tomorrow at the co-op. Never heard of her and don’t know any songs.

Just watching Oasis Jools Holland gig on iplayer from 2000. They had some swagger then.

Not long now to see if they still have! Unfortunately for me I missed out on tickets and didn’t fancy Heaton Park.

Saw OMD last night at the House of Blues in Cleveland. Their first headline gig in the city since 1986. I did last see them here about 10 years ago as support for the fucking Bare Naked Ladies.
The place was sold out and they were very solid and entertaining. This being the US, the set relied a bit too much on their late 80s radio-friendly dross, which is what they’re best known for here, but that was only a minor irritation, as they played plenty of the old stuff for the FOCs, who were much in evidence. Nothing off Dazzleships though :(
Next up, Neil Young in August.

Just been listening to The Charlatans' soundcheck from my mate's flat in Castlefield. They have an extremely loud Hammond organ, but overall sounded fantastic.
Yes, it is The Coral & Embrace as support tonight. Wish I was going, but can't afford to attend the entire string of gigs, so just did Elbow & returning for Bloc Party next Thursday.

Thanks mate can’t wait for tonight where Elbow on last night and then Shed Seven tomorrow?

Bloc Party, Castlefield Bowl, July.

Oasis, Heaton Park, July.

Prodigy, Coop Live Arena, April.

Charlatans headlining Docksfest in Cleethorpes Saturday w/ Ash & Maximo Park.
I’m not going as it’s not my cup of tea, I’ll be watching the live stream of the monumental Sabbath gig with a lot of beers and a few mates.

Got no gig mates, so end up going to most new bands on my todd, everyone is either skint or not into the same genre.

Off to see Elbow & The Slow Readers Club at Castlefield Bowl tomorrow evening, then Bloc Party at the same venue next Thursday.
I think it's a cracking venue, although I always get in early to secure a spot on the steps at the back.
Was there last night, got there just after 7 and ended up at the back of the steps so didn’t see much, had 10 year old lad on my shoulders for half of it so was fucked by the end. Great gig though and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tempted to buy shed seven tickets for tomorrow now.
