Be a real shame after Palmer if we don’t give Bobb another season. The right side of midfield is very much up for grabs.
Might be but he's lowest on the rung with Foden/Cherki (not sure which way around they will be), Savio all ahead so far.

Looking at the numbers, him and Rico are destined to be player 21 and 22 at least, be lucky to make the bench even with the clear out. I could see the sense in throwin him on a year loan to get Livramento for example, fitness really screwed him out of a clear shot this year.

probably not a bad loan move for him, looking at the squad size as is and possible.

Not sure why the Geordies would want to develop our own player with a loan move.

Surely they'll be after a permanent transfer, Palmer style, which at this moment in time would be a no from me.

True, i just dont see him getting in the team regularly tbh, despite the talent.

*another team might fancy the loan though.

He’s rated highly at the club.

However the club are considering what is best for his development.

Every lad in the Academy is 'highly rated' by City. That's why they're in there.

Oscar Bobb is just another potential star whose injury absence has almost certainly turned him into a probable cash cow.

His transfer 'value' now is probably double that it was before he broke his leg, thanks to 'that' goal against Newcastle, and the hype / expectation around him.

If we do sign Cherki,, I can see either Bobb or Foden being considered 'surplus to requirements'. If that is the case, I think City would take the first decent offer for Bobb.

Let's see which players are definitely arriving/staying/leaving before we start assessing Bobb's future

It will be a long campaign and assuming he's now fully fit, there will surely be opportunities

We also need to know which Foden will be with us next season: the 20 goals-per-season-matchwinner or the peripheral lightweight?

Nobody on this forum knows the answer so we'll just have to trust the people who assess it professionally

Are season starts in about 10 days i think pep will have to change his ways using more subs/rotation I'd hate to see bobb a homegrown player sold to one of our rivals we gave jm a season to try and prove himself so why not bobb i think he's a real talent

The boy hasn’t had a proper opportunity yet because of his injury. When he has played he has had moments of genius that not many in our squad could have replicated. If we sell him it would be short sighted and stupid. He is worth at least 20 minutes every game and I would prefer him to Savinho.
Agreed. Remember one of his first appearances, off the bench, and he dropped his shoulder and left two opponents standing. There was a collective intake of breath in the Etihad, and that only happens when something exceptional happens. Bobb and Cherki together would be worth the admission alone.

Yeah. It wasn’t just the Newcastle goal that demonstrated what he has in his locker for sure. He must be given a proper opportunity. If it doesn’t work out fine at least we will know. For my part, I think he will be a revelation.

I’m hoping Cherki plays centrally. If Foden doesn’t suddenly learn how to run again Bobb will be in with a very good chance. He’s presses far better than the others too

The striking thing with this one is that he's probably got the closest control with his feet in tight spaces of anyone — and yes I mean anyone — in the entire squad. Given that the low block is not only not going to go away, but will probably get worse in coming years, that makes Oscar gold-standard alone for me. And it's not all he's got in his locker.
Would be moronic to sell him or even loan him out.

Yeah, he shields the ball superbly too in tight spaces

If we lose him this summer it will be a bad transfer window for me. This lad should be the future of the club either out wide or centrally.

If we do buy Cherki I don’t see how we can keep Doku, Marmoush, Savinho, Bobb, Foden, Echeverri the required game time and keep them happy.

Agreed. Personally I'd rather we loaned out Echeverri and sold Savinho to make sure Bobb gets a decent amount of game time (if that's what it would take).

I was proper buzzing to see him break into the team properly at the beginning of last season. I firmly believe that he was going to be Pep’s go to right winger.

Saying that, these rumours of Bobb going out on loan could be true and I can understand it. He’s coming back from a year out and there isn’t much space for him to fit in. If he stayed, he’s got a few players to get past to get any decent minutes. It may be the best for him to go somewhere where he’s going to play every week.

I mean that’s exactly 7 players for 3-4 positions? Haaland won’t play EVERY Game and pep will hopefully learn to sub earlier.
If Echeverri gets a loan I seriously hope it’s in the PL.
