PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The problem is that football doesn’t seem to go by any real rules, legal or otherwise.

They have created a situation whereby real life rules and limitations don’t seem to apply.

It’s all very hush hush and secret meeting.

So no wonder speculation is rife. The league is merky, hidden in the undergrowth and supremely bias.

So although common sense says agree with Steffan, I can’t help think there is more going on than meets the eye. Simon Jordan knows how it works and that why he is snide at times. The rules can be manoeuvred to get clubs out of trouble, look no further than Chelsea. Common legal sense said they were fucked but the football fraternity found a way out to avoid punishment.

Very cynical. I like it.

Personally, I don't have any problem thinking something may be happening behind the scenes.

Do I think it's most likely? No, not really. At least, not yet. But I'm not going to poo-poo anyone who shares information they have heard in good faith. People who do are placing too much faith in the information they themselves have only heard. Rather, I will absorb it and let it shape my own opinions.

Let's face it, nobody knows anything, other than what they have heard.

The corridors of power.
3 reasons why Khaldoon has probably been informed of the ruling.
1, his world standing
2, seriousness of the alleged breaches
3, diplomatic

Diplomatic is a good point - I dont think it’s against the realms of possibility for Khaldoon to be given reassurance. I also can’t imagine he would say any more than providing reassurance but people at this level don’t have to go into everything.

The league and clubs essentially do what they want. How do you legislate that? Financially the books are inspected yearly but apart from that it’s seems like the Wild West. Straw men? Secret meeting not disclosed to John public.

Anyway, gone all watergate -:)

Both opinions(stefan/colin) can be right and wrong I guess depending on the construct they operate within.

If Khaldoon knows then other people must know (the panel are not going to give him, and only him, the heads up before everyone else). The fact that there have been no leaks or even hints that anyone at the top has heard anything therefore tends to make me think that he doesn't know.

Now, he may have (indeed probably has) been given a steer from the legal team who were at the hearing about how they thought it went but that is probably about as far as it goes at the moment.

In my humble opinion....

If the club don't know (or are not almost certain) that we have been succesful... then the clubs business in the last 12 months.. ie stadium expansions, mega contracts, multi millions on transfers.... is at best reckless and at worst utterly crazy

And our owners don't do reckless and certainly are not utterly crazy
Yes that was my point and irrespective of those who claim that the Club no nothing yet I would beg to differ.
You don`t go splashing that amount of money,as you say recklessly, if you still have no idea which way the wind is blowing.
IMO opinion I do believe that only 2/3 people at the club know of the outcome, but until all the dots and crosses have been amended then they are not going to divulge anything.

Khaldoon doesn’t need to tell anyone, all he has to say is I can assure you we will clear our name as we have irrefutable evidence. It will be business as usual & I will have my say after.

In his day job of dealing with the worlds elite of which he is one they deal in diplomacy & secrets all the time.

Had to laugh at the APNews one, the very first picture has a picture with the caption:-

"A woman walks a dog near the Inter Milan headquarters in Milan, Italy, on April 19, 2021"
I'm not sure I understand the joke. If you mean the date, I already spotted that. The picture was from April but the raid was in December 2021. I guess the picture was just the latest one they could find, which happens sometimes.

Serie A champions Inter Milan were the latest club to have its offices raided by the finance police on Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation into false accounting.
