PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

On another thread this morning, I suggested there might be a major development occurring behind the scenes in the Premier League regarding Financial Fair Play and Profitability and Sustainability Rules. It's striking how clubs have gone from appearing cash-strapped and offloading their key homegrown players, to suddenly spending lavishly. To me, this either means all our prior charges and PSR cases have been nullified, or the rules have been altered, perhaps to protect certain big clubs. This shift in financial approach feels incredibly significant.

Very true.

The easy path to the English international football team starts at utd.

You can be as shit as nicky butt or mainoo, as dopey as maguire... Doesn't matter, the media will ramp up their "has to play for england" headlines on behalf of expectant United fans.
I fkin hate it because we end up with a diluted England team.
There are plenty of United fans who think Beckham was over-rated as well. Certainly compared to Scholes and Keane. Beckham was the first footballer to really build his brand and image. A creation of the media.

Never ever seen a more overated player than Beckham. Good free kicker, average passer, no dribbling ability, weak tackler, hated physical contact, his being knighted cause he donates to causes, I would too if I had the money.
Give over.

The man was one of the very best passers, crossers and set piece takers the PL has seen.

He was told (by his agent?) I believe, that if he scored to celebrate alone in order to get all the cameras on him alone, and if a team mate scored - get on top of the huddle to get prime position in the snap.

think more APT rules which we've proved are a joke

He was made for life when he scored that goal from the half way line and then scored with Posh Spice.

I think he’s been very astute at marketing himself. Doubtless surrounded by the right people, but the notion he’s had no input into the direction of travel is wrong I’d say.

Otherwise sinfully thick and boring **** though!

I'll be honest the England squads back in the days of the piss-cans rags pretty much turned me away from the national team, my blue tinted eyes just wouldn't allow me to feel comfortable cheering them on - I can't say I have ever got the England vibe back since - even though we've had a fair few representatives of late.

Don't get me wrong I always cheer England on, but, it doesn't ruin my weekend when England lose like a City defeat does.

Remember the heady days when the pundits and commentators and assembled football geniuses decided that England should radically alter personnel and tactics to accommodate the prodigious talents of one Tom Cleverley.
