PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Sure, you could be right.

I just don’t remember there being a clamour for PL charges in the press. Certainly not to the level where weight of public opinion forces action like the Post Office.

Very little was in the public domain at that time and very little known about the investigation. Did we even have a bluemoon thread on it?

I remember hearing Stefan talk about it when there was the hearing over public interest and (if I recall correctly) he suggested it could be very serious but there wasn’t much to go off.

That was about it - then the charges dropped.
And the day after all the media said we were guilty. They could not abide the idea of some foreign brown people actually trouncing the cream of English football. Arabs see, bound to be cheats.

The way I remember it, the Daily Mail and the Guardian (in particular but they weren't alone) routinely shoehorned "are the subject of ongoing PL investigations' into all sorts of City-related articles.
(At one point, it felt like a cat could have had kittens on the Alan Turing Way and some of the usual suspects would have found an excuse to press copy and paste at the bottom of the article.
I'm being silly. This is nonsense of course. Most of the fuckers had the phrase installed as a template and, professionals that they are, theyd build up to it).

Drop all charges and fuck off would be the easiest way out.

Waste of time and money.

Rags…you are shit, accept it.

Dips…wankers, good team but major cunts behind the scenes.

Arse…we paid you more than enough money and thanks to your ineptitude we used the players to overtake you and now YOU are the bitch just like spurs used to be.

115 and out -:)

Oh how I wish that just for once you'd come down off that fence you're sitting on, dear Wolviedinho, and tell us what you really think..!

(Excellent, pithy summation by the way.. and I do so like 'pithy'..!)

Given there is absolutely no news, I am consistently surprised by this thread's position near the top of the 'new posts' section. It just needs to be done now as it's so boring (the dragging out, not the thread).
Yes, no idea how it keeps ending up at the top of the page

For those that are bored Here's an early article (2021) from the Daily Mail. The comments section is surprising.

And this one has Stefan Borsons comments too.

The whole thing starts with Der Spiegel then their story about even more emails is talked about in all the other publications. We didn’t think it would lead to charges, there was a clamour but likely it would have been talked about in the media thread.

Surprising as in they're copy & pasting the same crap in todays' articles?

I wonder why Stefan's piece was only allowed 11 comments before being closed whereas, Nick Harris's one has 387? There's a poster there (justvisiting) that someone suggested was Harris himself, they do scan as being Harris too.

It is concerning that they were written 2 years after the investigation was opened, 2019.

I haven’t seen anything from Harris for ages. Admittedly I only see it if pasted here but has he gone quiet / been silenced?
