PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I’m not sure that’s true as the charges came largely out of the blue (excuse the pun)?

In fact, the process would have remained behind closed doors if the PL and City had won the court proceeding around public interest etc.
I remember, in the past when we were seeing records broken and amazing title runs, we had just won something major.... Out of the blue one of the main reporters suddenly asking about potential PL charges (this was maybe a year and a half before they dropped).

There wasn't a general feeling that charges would be brought, in fact we thought it was ridiculous that they would try the same thing as UEFA.. it wasn't at all in the horizon but there was this ONE reporter highlighting it.

It convinced me there was a media campaign bubbling and chipping away in the background. Some reporters had seemingly made this their campaign.

Someone somewhere is tapping up reporters against City.

That was Rob Harris after we won the FA Cup and he asked Pep if he had been paid off the books in the same way Mancini had been.

I’m not sure that was specifically related to 115, however, to my last breath, I will never comprehend how Harris has ever been allowed to step foot inside the Etihad campus again.

Yeah it might have been and I might be getting them mixed up but I was sure I remembered a reporter specifically ask about the looming PL charges.

I remember the Rob Harris thing, that was spiteful, showed his true colours in that presser.

Thanks

Yes, I think they knew the challenges. I think the foolish Leicester appeal (and going further with APT on shareholder loans) signals either a stubbornness or a feeling that they have no choice to pursue things even if they have serious challenges to win.
I think we all know why they persued these things, the same lot who are now lobbying FIFA to increase the size of the CWC.
And I nievilly thought it was all about meritocracy.

Indeed, on the day the first and ONLY domestic treble had been achieved. If I had been there I would have kicked the **** right up the boom box. Absolutely dispicable. Can you imagine if rags or LFcult had won the first ever domestic treble?

So who leaked it to the press about the investigation? The premier league & city were happy for it to be conducted in privacy.

If the PL has the 2/3rds majority to do something it isn't Master's call. His main job is bringing in the money, the club squabbles are secondary to that.

He is a salesman, he doesn't know much about football, but enough to sell it. Similar to Cook.

That’s the mistake he’s made, it’s important but it’s not just that. He has to manage all of the stakeholders, egos & ensure they work together. Not only did he allow clubs to plot against City, they were complicit.

The **** couldn’t sell lifeboats on a sinking ship.

Yes, that’s fair, but the investigation was under way and speeding towards inevitable charges - hence the court proceedings around public interest.

I think it’s pretty clear the PL were hell bent on charging City regardless of whether it was published.

In politics & business investigations are often only pursued after the media have created public outrage. You’ve only got to look at the Post Office for that. The premier league had 4 years to charge us before they did. They sat on it like Chelsea now.

Given there is absolutely no news, I am consistently surprised by this thread's position near the top of the 'new posts' section. It just needs to be done now as it's so boring (the dragging out, not the thread).

It’s that long ago now it’s nearly forgotten by the mass moron movement orchestrated by Sky via spit and Rato amongst many others.

That’s the plan. Delay until people question did it actually happen -:)

In real life, the seriousness of the fraudulent allegations need to be properly investigated and properly conveyed to Joe Public.

See you in 12 months lol
