These daily shootings are abhorrent, why isn't our Government and other European governments calling out Israel on this. Hardly a peep on the news channels. How many Palestinians have been killed by the IDF 50,000 ?

I watched a segment the other night on the BBC about a young Israeli boy who was injured in a blast, 6 years of age. Tbf they weren't minor injuries and hope the young kid recovers well. The same time period over 35 had died in Gaza. Nothing mentioned. I think there has to be a number of maybe over 50 before it even makes the News Desk.

OT though this is, I know, there's another breed as well. The "do-ers". Most of us are talkers, not do-ers. We talk about a possible business idea then forget about it and go back to our 9 to 5's. Then we come up with another idea and do nothing about that as well.

Another guy I used to know was a do-er. Every time he had an idea, he acted upon it. He'd owned loads of businesses, half of which had gone bust but half hadn't. He was not uber rich, but still have a fabulous house in Solihul, with 2 concert grand pianos in the living room and drove a V12 Jag XJS back in the 80's when they were very cool indeed.

The difference in approach between him and me was quite startling. I even remember having a conversion with him about some idea or other (cannot remember what) and the next time I saw him, he said, "Oh, I've set up a company and we're doing that now". He was a remarkable, and actually very nice guy.

Many millionaires ARE “the average man!” He’s just saved a few quid on a regular basis and invested it!

In fact, £50 pw invested for 40 yrs would make you a millionaire without lifting a finger. How much do you spend a week on beer? Fags? Eating out? Coffee even?!

Conversely, if you’ve put away a bit of money by the time you’re 20-25 yo, you can still be a millionaire and never save another penny!

It feels like a very working class mentality to read how we equate having money with status homes, outwardly visible (showy) possessions, and a flash motor.

Most millionaires are just normal people with good habits, who know the value of a quid. They drive average cars, live in average homes, and appear very average people.

That said, entrepreneurial spirit can be a driver of well above average returns on investment for those who are successful in leveraging that spirit and adding a sprinkle of talent and hard work.

There’s a recent movement away from flashy status symbols and branding/logos, etc., towards “quiet luxury.” Quality materials and construction, and other traits, that exude the quality that they represent to the people with the knowledge to understand what they are.

Going back to topic, Trump isn't the President to make a difference for America - he wants to be the most powerful man on the planet and he wants to be known forever. In the process he is getting even richer and allowing his mates to profit from it too. Starmer is a fucking chameleon, he adapts to his surroundings and he will change his views depending on what HE can get out of it. Take note of him moving away from Labour principles, sucking up some of the policies Reform have so that he can win back seats there. He doesn't give a fuck about any of us, just like the majority that have been PM. It's a big scam.

I know for a fact, through a direct personal relationship, what they are doing to the chief prosecutor of the ICC after he issued those arrest warrants. Have any of those been pushed on? Is anyone in The Hague right now? What did the US say to it and what did Trump do? The reason these guys say fuck all is to protect themselves - they know where the power lies and what can happen to them if they don't stfu and do as they're told.

I think you're forgetting discounted cash flow and net present value!

At 3% average inflation over 40 years, $1m is only worth $300k in real terms.

Or to put it another way, you need $3m in the future to be a millionaire on todays prices.
